Budget projector bulb replacement
Location: Toronto/Canada
Budget: <$150 CAD
Use case: Outdoor movie night for 60"+ screen, upgrade from YG300 (which we have been using and is pretty bad, but usable in complete darkness for a small screen).
I found a BenQ MW824ST locally for $80 CAD, which would be plenty good for my use case but its lamp is already over its rated hours, so should probably be replaced soon.
Buying a new lamp from benq would be $150 CAD which seems a bit silly to be investing in something I only spent $80 for.
Chinese lamps seem to run $30-60 CAD which feels much more palatable, but is it a large risk?
Should I just try to find a different model with a less used bulb to just make things easy?
