I hate people sometimes...
My coworker rang up a customer for 48 cents instead if 48 dollars, easy to do if the decimal point button doesn't read that it was pushed. Neither my coworker or the customer realized what happened until the customer was out the door. That's easy to not notice if you're running the digital registers we do. Simple mistake.
The customer comes back in SCREAMING at everyone he runs into between him and customer service. He screams at customer service about being UNDER-charged, he screams at the stock guy standing nearby. He then storms out. The thing is that my coworker was emotionally abused by his dad, who screamed at him all the time, enough so that he has PTSD, and this fuck caused my coworker to freeze.
This occurred before I got in, but several employees told me about it. It sucks as well because my coworker as a slight mental disability, not enough to affect his work terribly, and has a physical disability, so it really hurt his confidence. All I could think was "Verbally destroying that prick would be a worthy sacrifice if I got canned." People are asses sometimes...
