How has becoming a YouTuber changed your life?

Has YouTube had a positive impact on your life, a negative one, or a bit of both? I'd love to hear how creating content has changed you, whether it's your confidence, routine, career, or something completely unexpected.

Has anyone else been getting really weird YouTube recommendations lately?

Over the past few months, my homepage has been filled with videos like "I'm 37 and broke," "I just got fired," "My life working a minimum wage job," and similar content. The strange part is I've never clicked on videos like these, yet YouTube keeps recommending them. Has anyone else noticed this, or is my algorithm just completely confused?

3 YouTube niches to avoid in 2026

  1. Al doctor - YouTube is actively demonetizing Al personas that give advice on health

  2. Al story channels - Sleep stories. Reddit story channels. Templated narrative farms. Same 10 stock visuals with a generated voice reading the same story structure. The "unsatisfying or off-putting content" policy was written specifically for these.

  3. shock content - Repackaged crime footage. Same disturbing theme every video. YouTube is aggressively wiping these under the new template detection rules.

The lazy Al channel opportunity is closed.

Auden's Col trek, Uttarakhand

Auden’s Col (5,490 m / 18,010 ft) is one of the most challenging and remote high-altitude mountain passes in the Indian Himalaya. It connects the sacred shrines of Gangotri and Kedarnath in the state Uttarakhand, traversing the vast Jogin and Khatling glaciers through rugged moraine, crevassed ice, and steep snow and rock slopes. First crossed in 1939 by British geologist and explorer John Bicknell Auden, the pass remains a demanding expedition that requires prior experience in mountain travel and careful acclimatization. Beyond its physical challenges, the route offers some of the most dramatic alpine scenery in the Garhwal Himalaya, with towering peaks, pristine glacial landscapes, lush meadows and a profound sense of wilderness.
