XJ40 back on the road
Finally got it ready for TÜV — and it passed! The only remark was a slight bit of oil around the engine sump. Guess that’s how you know a British car still has enough oil in it.
There are just three things I want to sort out on this completely stock, manual XJ6:
-Lower the front a little to get the ride height closer to the rear.
-Find some fog light covers.
-Fix the sagging headliner.
A couple of questions for the XJ40 experts:
Front springs: Are there any shorter springs that lower the front slightly while keeping the original OEM spring look?
Fog light covers: I bought a used set of Hella 177 covers, but the plastic was so brittle that they broke almost immediately. Are there any better alternatives, or is this just a common issue with old ones?
Any tips would be appreciated!
