New international grad student at UT: looking for hiking spots, cool places, and ways to meet people

Hi everyone,

I'm a new international grad student at UT, and I've been feeling a bit down lately settling in. It's not that my English isn't good enough; it's more that I don't know what to talk about with people here yet. Conversation just doesn't flow the way it used to back home.

I used to love traveling and exploring around my home country, and I'd like to find that same feeling here. Would love any suggestions for good hikes or nature spots around Knoxville, and honestly any interesting places in general; bars, cafes, whatever's worth checking out; plus any groups or communities where I could meet people, especially folks who might relate to someone from my background. Please note I am on a budget.

Would really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Looking for a urologist(for men) in Dhaka known for being non-judgmental and easy to talk to

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a urologist(for men) in Dhaka who has a reputation for being genuinely non-judgmental and professional, someone who treats patients with respect no matter their circumstances, and doesn't make people feel awkward or embarrassed for whatever brings them in.

If you've had a good experience with a doctor like that, I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

Looking for legitimate therapeutic massage centers in Dhaka for joint pain — recommendations?

Hey everyone,

I've been dealing with some ankle and knee pain (no injury, likely muscle tightness and overuse) and want to try therapeutic massage, specifically deep tissue or sports massage targeting the muscles around the joints rather than the joints themselves.

The problem is finding a place in Dhaka that's actually professional and focused on genuine therapeutic work. Most places I come across online either have vague listings or the reviews are clearly fake.

Ideally looking for something in Dhaka (Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, or anywhere accessible) with:

  • Trained therapists who understand muscle/joint work
  • Clean, professional environment
  • Transparent pricing

Thai massage places in Gulshan seem to come up a lot but would love to hear from people who've actually been. Is Siam Oasis or Frozen Thai Spa worth it for therapeutic purposes specifically, or are they more relaxation-oriented?

Any personal recommendations appreciated. DMs welcome if you'd rather not post publicly.
