I'm not sure about this outfit but I like the wig, her eyes and her faceup. Not quite sure of what her style is supposed to be. K-pop, Japanese Anime? She's got kitty platform boots.

She's getting a bit more fluffy. Her tail is a bit thicker, her behind is fluffier, and she's definitely growing a bigger ruff. I think she just might be more medium haired before she's all done growing. It kind of surprises me because I really thought she was going to be almost completely short haired but she's changing practically as I type.
We had an appt this week to do her spay which she completely blew by going into her first heat. Between that and how small she still is they said not to risk it yet. She's a very petite little cat. They sent us home and rescheduled her for July.
First heat only lasted about 4 days and she was very quiet the whole time. She was rubbing a lot on everything and rolling on the floor. She pretty much wanted to either be in my lap or sleeping most of the time. She was more vocal than usual but not annoyingly so.
She still has a pretty small meow though it is noticeably louder than it was 2 months ago. She doesn't talk a whole lot normally. When she does you can barely hear her. Her purr is way louder than her speaking voice.
I don't know for sure but I think Stella was likely the runt of her litter. She's been very slow to gain size and weight compared to most of the cats I've raised except for Lily my last cat who was the runt and who was always very small for a half Maine Coon cat.
At 9 months Stella still isn't much bigger than she was at 6 months. She's just filled out a little and gotten just a tad longer. I do notice some changes in her coat but she's looking like she's mostly done with the rest of it.
It's probably a good thing she's not going to be having kittens. I think she's just too small and likely a pregnancy would be very hard on her. I wish she had not gone into her first heat before her spay appt but it can't be helped and she's in a very secure location. She's not the first girl cat that's done this on me but she's by far the quietest.
I got her some Feliway and calming treats with melatonin just in case she goes back in again before her revised appt. She was mostly okay just a bit grouchier than usual. I hope if she goes in again it's like this, 4 days and done.
I was surprised that it took her this long. I've never had a cat wait till 9 months to have her first one before. It can be a bit tough getting a spay appt here. Waiting months is pretty much par for the course in NYC and if a cat is small like she is they often advise waiting a bit heat cycle or not.
According to her vet she just seems to be a bit delayed in terms of growth and maturity. She's got a completely clean bill of health otherwise. She's on good food. She's got no cat viruses, no parasites, nothing bad to account for it. She's just a very small kitty and growing very slowly compared to some kittens. So probably she was the runt. She was the last kitten placed so it's very likely.

Midas Touch Madra (Mel Odom) in Garden Party Confidential (altered) by Robert Tonner originally for Brenda Starr.
I got this gorgeous green tweed suit sans the Brenda Starr doll but it had seriously floppy and huge lapels and the cuffs were made too big.
Normally they are not like that. They are more properly sized for the jacket so I'm guessing it was a QC issue. I didn't feel too bad about removing them and this makes the suit a lot more Madra's style.
My Hollywood Canteen Madra is in Madame Alexander's green tweed suit for her Sienna Grace Kelly so it felt right to put this earlier version of Madra into this one.
The color is definitely HER and like a lot of IT Madra dolls she has the green eye shadow so it makes it a bit harder to dress her in just anything.
I had a lot of fun with her accessories as you can see. I think it is a very good outfit this Madra. It's very appropriate in terms of her timeline. Other than being just a tad long in the sleeves as most Tonner suits are on Mel's dolls I think it's very pretty on her.
She was a holy grail doll of mine for a very long time this doll. I only got her at a price I could afford because she had some noticeable yellowing. Fortunately the outfit covers it nicely. 😊
Here she is and "OH MY" is she stunning! She is MINT! Except for her hair being a bit gnarly from being in the box for 24 years she's in great shape. No yellowing at all which is very rare for this doll. She even came with the hair styling guide. I couldn't be more pleased with her.
For right now she's going back in the box because my 8 month old kitten cannot be trusted with her but once I figure out a new display situation I will display her proudly.
I am going to give her deeper blue eyes at some point and change out her shoes to some nice pumps vs the ribbon shoes. I will make her some earrings and a bracelet to go with her pretty outfit, but for now she's looking fabulous.

Usually when I see this doll she's very yellowed in the torso. She did not age well overall a deep yellowing on this doll is the usual which is sad because she has the later more articulated AD body. This one you can see some color change but at least it's not deep pea yellow like some.
Unlike earlier Simply Gene dolls she has the updated and IMHO vastly more attractive eye makeup. Like the later Integrity Swim Suited To A T doll, one of my personal favorites she has a look vaguely reminiscent of a classic Barbie doll.
She was a basic doll special edition. There were far less of her made than previous Simply Gene dolls so she can be a bit harder to find and when you do she's not in the greatest shape usually ends up needing a body swap.
Fortunately I don't think this one will so I was very pleased to see her being sold for a reasonable price. Lately Gene doll prices are all over the place and I've seen people trying to sell her for 3X the price she actually sold for back in the day. Nobody will pay that especially when she's badly yellowed but some people they have to try, you know?
I have a couple of ideas for which outfit. I was thinking either Bridge Club or Love's Ghost an outfit that's sort of Edwardian. My Blue Heaven would also look great on her, and I've never actually had it, but it can be a pricey outfit and unless I got a really good deal on it I probably wouldn't go there.
When I had this doll before I actually redid her lips and nails in a softer palette and gave her more color in her blue eyes. She looks really good in a more natural palette with the later eye makeup and that would go well with the outfits I have in mind. If I go evening wear though then maybe not.
This doll and the Ultimately Madra dolls are my favorite basic Odom Ashton Drake dolls and I'm glad to have her back. I missed this girl after she got stolen. I've seen a good dozen of her since but this one happily is in much better shape than most.

Close up is Amanda Fairchild the doll the outfit originally came on. Personally I like Amanda's clothes on Amanda but they work on almost all 16" dolls very well especially period dolls like Gene and Co. I made a point of actually getting several of the Amanda dolls for their suits and dresses. Most of them are just really gorgeous.
I've been wanting this outfit for a while but every time I see it the doll is just wildly overpriced for an Alex collection doll. I finally snagged it for a reasonable sum but unfortunately not on Amanda.
Tides is a nice Alex doll but I rather prefer the RH version of her to the brunette. At least she's not yellowed too much and has bending legs. Also she came with her original holographic swim outfit too and I always liked it.

It's got a sweater in a color that I don't have for my 16" girls, a nice brown suede bag and matching shoes that I think are a lot like the brown suede Kingstate shoes I once had and unfortunately lost when I moved here.
She looks to be in good shape, nice hair, not much yellowing. I got a nice deal on her under $50 so it was well worth it I think even just for the outfit. The Mod Alex doll was pretty much just a bonus.
I had this Mod Alex once before and she's a nice one. I ended up giving her articulated body to one of my favorite Alex dolls, SOHO. I probably wouldn't have gotten her again because I have several Alex Fairchild dolls at this point but in the end I just wanted that outfit and the price was right.
