Why is our best coffee exported while we drink instant sachets back home? (Indonesia)

I don't know much about coffee. A friend of mine recently bought some Bajawa Flores natural process coffee. He brewed it black, no sugar. I tried it and was surprised it was genuinely good even without sugar, with a noticeable fruity note.

This actually stood out to me because in Indonesia, mainstream coffee culture is usually built around sugar. Most people here grew up drinking coffee heavily sweetened, often instant sachet blends that already come mixed with sugar and creamer. Drinking coffee black, let alone appreciating its natural flavor notes, isn't really the norm for the average person — it's more of a niche thing among coffee enthusiasts.

My friend then told me something ironic: apparently a lot of Indonesia's best coffee gets exported because of its quality, while most Indonesians themselves stick to instant sachet coffee or mass-market brands rather than the specialty stuff grown right here.

So I wanted to ask people who know more: is it actually true that our high-quality coffee gets exported due to quality, or is this more of a local myth? And if it's true, do you think the sugar-heavy coffee culture here plays a role in why local specialty coffee doesn't get appreciated more domestically?

kalau udah punya hp layak. Ganti hp udah gak worth it kayaknya sekarang

hp saya redmi note 12 4g sudah lama 3 tahun masih aman. banyak temen temen saya yang tiap tahun ganti hp. saya bingung apa sih gunanya ganti hp. bener sih emang hp baru itu bagus dan kualitasnya oke. cuman ya apa lahhhh.

kemudian saya mau curhat nih. temen saya kemaren beli redmi note 14. nah saya pinjem lah hpnya nyoba main game eh entah kenapa rasanya lebih smoth dan responsih hp saya (redmi note 12) ini gen baru kok malah downgrade rasanya. btw hp saya sendiri ya gak kosongan polos pabrik. udah saya root dan suntik beberapa hal sehingga performanya mapan dan no iklan. sampai temen saya terheran heran kok bisa hp saya se enak itu. yah saya jawab yang penting itu optimisasi device. karena sebenranya banyak device kuat dibatasi software. apalagi sistem update android yang terus memaksa user untuk mengubah OS tiap pacth baru.

NFS 2015 server is dying and it genuinely hurts — but I think the modding community might be our last hope. Here's why it's harder than you think.

I've been sitting on this post for a while because every time I start writing it I just get sad. But with the server shutdown getting closer, I feel like someone needs to say this out loud.

NFS 2015 is the best game this franchise has ever made. I know that's a take. I know people will say Underground 2, Most Wanted 2005, Carbon. And I love those games too. But NFS 2015 did something those games never did — it committed. Fully. No half-measures. Ventura Bay at night, rain on the asphalt, five crews with five completely different vibes, and a soundtrack that didn't feel like background noise, it felt like the soul of the game. Ghost Games understood something about this franchise that EA never fully appreciated: the fantasy isn't just about fast cars. It's about a world you want to live in.

And now that world is going to go dark. Because of a server.

Here's the part that kills me — and why saving this game is genuinely harder than people realize.

When people talk about saving always-online games, the usual examples are NFS World or The Crew. And those are real victories — the community brought them back, and that's incredible. But those games used servers mostly as a gatekeeper. Once you're in, the game logic runs on your machine.

NFS 2015 is different. Ghost Games built the game's core systems around server communication. We're not just talking about login and profile data. We're talking about:

  • Car handling and physics — the way your car responds, the tuning validation, the feel of every single vehicle. That data gets checked server-side in real time. Without the server, your car literally doesn't know how to drive.
  • AI opponent behavior — the logic that makes rivals feel like actual racers, not traffic cones. That's not fully local.
  • The police pursuit system — the escalation, the coordination between units, the whole cat-and-mouse feel that made cop chases actually tense. Server-side logic. All of it.

This isn't a locked door with the key on the other side. This is a locked door where half the building is on the other side.

So why am I not completely hopeless?

Because of people like the UNITE modding team. These guys have been quietly doing what EA never bothered to do — fixing NFS 2015 properly. Better visuals, better VFX, that cut E3 garage that never made it into the final game, even removing the crash cutscenes. 44,000+ members in their Discord. Active updates. They haven't given up. And they know this game better than anyone.

And because of what happened with The Crew. Five modders. Five people decided they weren't going to accept that a game they loved was just gone. They reverse-engineered the server protocol, built an emulator from scratch, and brought it back. That project became "The Crew Unlimited" and it's running right now. That pressure also forced Ubisoft to commit to offline modes for The Crew 2 and Motorfest.

Same playbook could work here. Community pressure on EA. A dedicated team willing to go deep into the technical side. It's not impossible.

But here's the real talk — NFS 2015 needs a team, not a lone hero.

To actually free this game, you'd need:

  • Someone who can reverse engineer Frostbite network calls
  • Someone who understands the physics/handling data pipeline well enough to rebuild it locally
  • Someone who can reconstruct the AI state machine from scratch
  • And people who've already been deep in the UNITE project who know where the bodies are buried in this codebase

That's not one person working alone at 2am. That's a coalition. And coalitions need a reason to form.

So I'm posting this because maybe someone reading this is that person. Maybe you've already been poking around in the game files and you know something the rest of us don't. Maybe you're on the UNITE team and you've been thinking about this. Maybe you worked on a similar revival project for another game.

If you exist — please say something. This community will back you.

NFS 2015 deserved better from EA. It still does. But EA isn't going to save it. We are, or nobody is.

Ventura Bay shouldn't go dark.
