I will totally be consulting more than one medical professional on this, I promise! I’m just in the early stages and gathering info.
I’m just looking for some advice from moms who delivered babies post scoliosis correction surgery (with instrumentation).
for background, most of my spine is fused from T2-L4. my surgery was at 15 and I’m exploring what a pregnancy and delivery would look like for me at 33. I fortunately have not had any post-op pain or back issues since the operation.
Ive read that an epidural is not as feasibor sometimes outright impossible for women with major spinal instrumentation? I’ve also read that the “impact” of natural birth could do a number to my spine and instrumentation.. so then what? raw-dogging birth in a hut out back?
apologies for my ignorance!
