I’m on the vascular team at my hospital. We take call for a week straight and it’s only for vascular cases. For some reason when we started this team the OR manager put us in as CVOR and we started getting their premium pay of $10 per hour on top of our regular base pay. About a year later they take it away because we are not CVOR and it was a mistake.

I am incredibly insulted by this. We get great results in vascular and our CVOR staff works one case a month. Why don’t we deserve a pay bump? Ok considering quitting because this is beyond insulting.

My family and I live in the New England area. My fiancé and I have decided to have our wedding in New Orleans, because we just love the city and we’ve been a few times together. I understand this probably meets the criteria of a “Destination Wedding”, however I do feel it’s not as crazy as a trip to the Caribbean or Hawaii. I am aware that it is a financial commitment to go across the country for a wedding.

I created a group chat of about 9 people for my bachelor party, and opened it up to them for what we wanna do. My best friend suggested a quick 3 day trip to Nassau Bahamas. Everyone was excited and on board. I understand that this is a kind of a ridiculous trip, however with more than a year notice in advance I think it’s doable.

My younger brother who I wanted to be one of my 3 groomsmen texted me a few days after and told me he won’t be going on the bachelor trip and traveling for the wedding is “plenty enough”. Since then he’s been very cold and standoffish towards me. I texted him a few times with no answer. I even said “I know you won’t let me pay for you, but how can I get you to come, I really want you to be there”’ and nothing. He did explain that he’s trying to save money with his girlfriend for a house, etc. My thought is that I’m getting married once, please be there for me.

I know this is first world problems and I might sound like a jackass, but I feel like he is being a little strange about the situation. I feel like an asshole because I’m asking all of these people to do these trips but I’ve explained to them that I understand if you can’t make it. I think the response of traveling for the wedding is “enough already”, really got me going and the fact that he’s been kinda standoffish towards me. Idk I might be selfish, but I want my brother there. AITA??
