My bizarre qud adventures

Found a disgusting legendary arch dervish on stratum 25 with all his psychic thralls which consisted of a wren that breathed sleeping gas, a dromad trader and all his allies, astral tabby, gamma moth, a putus templar father or whatever (he unfortunately died to plasma before I could love injector and do water ritual with him) and a plasma jellyfish. He had quite the squad of superheroes with him. Somehow managed not to get obliterated by them (and also from an annoying, interfering dynamic tinker and his turrets) and I offed most of his squad, somehow got a lucky proc with love injectors to the arch dervish (after shooting his weapon away with an energy pistol) which caused his remaining squad members to become friendly.

I love injectored the dromad trader and recoiled him elsewhere since he has high tier loot and I took everything off him for free. Even after killing the arch dervish, the dromad trader remained hostile after the love injector wore off and after time had passed too. Surprisingly when I got him cloned with a cloneling I rebuked (from the same cave I guess), the cloned trader was not hostile. Going cave diving was actually really profitable, kept finding turret tinkers and their turrets to disarm with the pistol shot and dismember to also steal the guns. Dismember worked like a poor man's long sword disarm lol.

Even with my mediocre ego level, I still got really good prices for the guns (must have sold like 30+ jacked laser rifles and other assorted guns). I found a communication implant so I could rebuke robots better and worked on getting that cloneling and let it clone a six day stilt ichor merchant til I could trade for rare liquids like warm static, sunslag, cloning draught and brain brine. Did you know with a cloneling you can make them more accurate with their cloning by doing ctrl + space and then ability use and turning off flurry and turning off or on the cloning ability when you want and by telling the cloning to not move?

If you let them stay put next to whoever you want to clone then command them to be able to do cloning, they will repeatedly clone whoever is next to them then you can just ctrl + space them again to disable when you want. Very helpful rather than letting them run off and clone random shiz. The rebuke robots check is super rough though I was level 21 with a +3 modifier and still failing on a cloneling which is level 16 with an MA of 10. Only beat it after getting the implant that helps rebuke robots and even then just barely lol.

In the 2nd image we have the aforementioned former psychic thrall turned free but still hostile dromad trader that I saved and after I attacked it I saw that there was an option to repair it? Like wtf is this trader a robot or something? LMAO. Another neat trick is when cloning a bunch of ichor merchants, they have a high chance of showing up with painted or engraved bottles which give you free secrets/ruins/artifact locations. Just go to trade, press space on those bottles and voila. Sometimes though you already know those secrets but they still give me some new ones. I found a lucky rare drop of a recoiler truekin implant which makes it easy for me to travel around since I can imprint the location for free so easily.

I also have reprogrammable recoilers. One for stilt, for joppa and grit gate then the implant recoiler for the 25 stratum cave. Lots of money and useful things to be found down there. Got a lot of guns to trade for implants too. Neat trick I like to do is I set the recoil point nearby to the cloned merchants then I take everything I want to sell and put it in a chest even if it burdens me then I recoil and drop the chest, move, pick it up, drop, move, etc. Do the heavy chest shuffle til I'm next to the merchants since you can swap positions with a merchant or ally regardless of your burdened weight and I take everything out of the chests and swap positions freely while selling and offloading all my stuff.

Oh yeah another funny moment was rebuking a harmless stasis miner. Kept leaving me presents everywhere to collect and disassemble or sell and it was basically unlimited and free. Got a lot of bits cos of that. Got me a nice little stash of a few rare liquids that I plan on duplicating soon with polygel.

Agility Dagger Build Guidance

So I've played a bit of qud, not your average noob, but also not super well versed in end game and some things. I would like to know what are some of the necessities of a truekin (or mutant) agility dagger build? I have the entire shortblade skill tree and some other helpful skills, like flurry. I have two fullerite daggers, rank fangs on the face, a folded carbide wristblade, hoping to find a cybernetic implant that gives me extra arms or hand slots so I can get even more daggers. I understand that I should upgrade my daggers to crysteel then zetachrome but I was wondering, what else can I do for my build?

My DV is not super insane, just 22, I admit my gear could definitely be better at level 18 lol. My attributes are 22 str, 28 agi (+1 from gloves), 21 tough, 26 int (I love my tinkering), 15 will and 20 ego (+1 from knollwurm skull). I could get another +1 from my mirrorshades or I can use dismember to try and get a legendary creature's face for +3 ego. I should probably get snake oiler too, these prices are killing me lol. I'm not trying to cheese too hard, I did that in my other meta playthrough of corrosion gas + wings combo. Also, implants I currently have are optical technoscanner (recently found, I hate having to ID artifacts), inflatable axons (plan to add more compute power for them) and an onboard recoiler.

Some spare implants I have but have not found more credits for are ultra elastic ankle tendons, optical multiscanner (pls i need this), nav system (meh not so important) and electromagnetic sensor (maybe useful? idk). I'd really like to have the penetrating radar that Warden Une has too. I know there are stronger builds out there, I just can't help but pander to the quick, high agility, dagger wielding, dodgy rogue playstyle. What mods should I be putting on my equipment? Lately I've been using pistols to disarm turrets and steal all the guns to sell. Also where do yall find spiral borers? I can't ever for the life of me find any.

Edit: Forgot to add, any way to make the disarming shots on pistols proc quicker or more reliably? I know the swipe from swords is pretty reliable but it would feel disingenuous to my current build.

Becoming a wraith knight

Not much info on this. I found a phylactery item that putus templar squires hold and use to summon a wraith knight. Basically a holographic, physically immune and permaphased templar knight. I want to become it. I want to know if it is possible, I found the item without the templar squire holding it. Is it possible to dominate bodyswap a hologram?

Pls let my dreams come true as a wraithknight haha and my life force would be keeping the phylactery item on me and powered at all times. Would be pretty interesting. I wonder if it would even accept cybernetic implants lol.

Game Dev Vent/Rant (Mostly Personal)

This will probably be a blurb of thoughts and frustrations. I'm not a very organized person, less so when I am multitasking while working and enjoying a migraine as well. Regardless, I want to get these all off of my chest and out there then maybe hear some insights or thoughts about them. Honestly, I'm quite negative and pessimistic as a person normally so I'm hoping I could read other's uplifting or positive perspectives or thoughts and advice.

Welp, here goes, and in no specific order of magnitude. If I want to create a game, I want to do it because it is something I am passionate about and that I want to play (and for others to possibly enjoy as well), not because all I think about is profits and whatnot. Actually, I don't care much about that side in game dev but if it does happen then great, I would definitely appreciate it. (If someone really wanted to play my game, hell, I'd just give them a copy for free.) But for me, it is more important that I enjoy and want to play my own game that I created, that is the reason why I am doing game dev after all. To create my dream, ideal games that my soul has been searching for all these years.

Not that I am good at this or even a "game dev". I've made a couple of shoddy projects here and there, not uploaded anything of course, dabbled in 3D modeling, scripting, coding and whatever. Had projects in python, html, unreal engine etc. Never finished any of them of course, they were more like proof of concepts. I made an isometric roguelike with python, had your character and goblins and yk stats/attributes and basic stuff. Made a 2D sidescroller/open(?)scroller project that used custom spritesheets and it was all animated (breathing/idling, running, jumping, attacking, etc.) Kept flip flopping between do I want to make the game in 2D as a roguelike or 3D etc.

I find it really hard to know where to start, like my passion and motivation take me to the things I want to get completed first and then when I keep failing etc I get burnt out. By failing I mean like 3+ months of bug testing/fixing trying to get some features to work but because they are unique there is like 0 documentation to what I am doing and also because I am a noob at game dev. I never had any formal education for game dev, didn't have the luxury of going to a school or getting any sort of degree. I just haphazardly self taught myself. You know, pull myself up by the proverbial bootstraps except I'm so disorganized and erratic, I haven't accomplished much.

I used to spend like 12+ hours a day learning and researching about game development and coding etc. I don't have that time anymore and I've already forgotten most of what I have learned which feels like a big blow to me since it is like I wasted all that time for nothing. Can barely keep my head on to do my regular job, let alone try to learn how to do game dev again. Which really sucks, yk? There's a growing pit in my chest since I feel like I cannot fulfill my passion or dream because I am so limited as myself. It's like 'reach for the stars', but has any one of us actually reached them yet?

I know the reason why people have teams and whatnot is because it is super daunting to take on all alone, especially if your project is super ambitious and overscoped to hell lol. The thing about that though is you need to have a common goal or understanding or contract. Either you are both working towards the same idea or you are paying them to help you etc. My problem is that I don't know if I can work well with others because while their output can be good, or great even, would it align with what I had envisioned if I had done it myself?

Might be stupid thinking since you could just placeholder things etc but if everything gets nitpicked and redone then no progress is actually being made. In my eyes, more people added to the team = further sway away from the vision, which also sucks because I'm not even good nor a one man army. Just like the stars from earlier, my dream feels like it is out of reach. It pains me thinking that I have to live my whole life with that dream shelved away to be forgotten and dusty. I don't have the money or ideals to convince or hire people to work on features or my idea. I don't have the time or energy to spare on learning and doing game dev.

The only one who will listen to my raving and out of touch game dev fantasies is AI and we all know how much we love vibe coded AI slop. Plus, AI is not at the level to produce anything good on its own, rather it is just a tool to help you with your current efforts. I'm hopelessly and shamelessly waiting for the day, maybe in like 5-6 years where AI can actually fully create the games of my dreams without too much hassle. If there is still a world by then or if I am still alive by then and able to think about that.

I'm an easy way out kind of guy, I take the path of least resistance. Is that a good thing? Rarely yes but mostly no. It allows for ingenuity in solving some issues but I am mostly seen as lazy or a procrastinator. I can hardly think, stay focused or remember recent events so trying to stay focused on one thing feels like I am actively torturing myself. I wish I wasn't this way but I am. I am also extremely disorganized and messy. All of which are bad traits for game dev which seemingly requires you to be organized, disciplined, focused and goal oriented/motivated. Everything I am not. And it is sad too, because I love games, and I want to make games that I love and hope others could love as well.

Maybe I'll just try to make a simple roguelike clone with basic ASCII graphics and go from there. Idk.

So basically I did a super pro max meta build not because I like the meta but rather I wanted the easiest and fastest means possible (without cheating/using dev mode) in crafting my ideal build/character. Started with wings, corrosive gas, domination and sunder mind. Most points into wisdom and ego and some int, other stats are severely lacking. Speed leveled in salt dunes and then rainbow forest and am now chilling in yd freehold. I found a legendary gunsmith nearby and robbed them blind with domination, granting me access to a load of expensively marked guns which I can and probably mostly will use as monetary assets.

My character is level 26 now, 13 str, 15 agi, 14 toughness, 22 int, 31 wil and 28 ego. I figure I can always go esper hunting later for ego and most of my abilities are pretty strong. Still struggle with some enemies like swarmers and ranged that use fire or ice and my sunder mind can't take them all out. Stuff like swarms of ants (immune to my corrosive gas), robots, and goatfolk which I try to avoid as much as possible. I am planning on transferring my character to a truekin at some point and have been saving up a lot of implants for it. I have warden une as my companion and been making them my mule lol holding all my gear in yd freehold.

The guns I received were (all marked with legendary gunsmith's signature) spaser rifles, high voltage arc winders (one masterwork), carbine, long reach grappling gun, eigenpistol and eigenrifle, space inverter and a masterwork engraved freeze ray. My current character kinda sucks at ranged weapons but hopefully my future character will be much better. Honestly not sure if I should just stay with my current character or find someone better to replace them with. I do like the abilities but a lot of other areas are lacking, like str, agi, etc.

So my questions for you guys are do you think I should stay as my character or find someone else to bodyswap with? Should I sell the guns instead? Go find a truekin to dominate? I got a ton of implants for a truekin to use. Which ranged weapon is best for my build? Currently I just fly and corrosive gas anything or sunder minds. I have teleport and phasing too.

Corrosive gas level 9, wings level 6, tonic allergy, domination level 7 (due to ego), sunder mind lvl 7, light manip lvl 7, phasing lvl 4, teleportation lvl 7 and heightened quickness lvl 1. Used my skill points in persuasion, cooking, tinkering, customs and folklore, and yeah that's about it. Since this meta build is very minimal, I still have loads of skillpoints I didn't spend yet. I have metamorphic polygel and neutron flux (1 of each lol) and my character is inspired so I could probably make my AV high in the future. Just want to know if it is worth it on this character. I could probably go to the six day stilt and bodyswap steal all the loot from there and repeat and clone tilli in yd freehold for better stocks of gear. I could also probably keep stealing from that legendary gunsmith merchant lol gives me like $1k-$2k per weapon I get off him usually.

I don't really mind the main quests, I think I just want to get as strong as possible and break the game as much as I can (without cheats or devmode). Would like a super OP character that shrugs off everything and can obliterate all enemies anywhere.

Edit: Forgot to say, sorry for the wall of text and thanks for reading or responding. Lib and dink travelers.

2nd edit: Forgot to mention that I have 2 eater's nector injectors as well.

The role is work from home but they also have office options. We get paid twice a month, usually fifteen days apart. People keep telling me the pay is good but it honestly does not feel like much. My contract was for almost a year of work and starting at 11250php per month with extra bonuses for overtime, night shift differential, and work from home "allowances". When we got our first pay, a lot of people were upset because it took a whole month of working plus the training time for it to arrive. It was only 13k php and the second half of pay of that month was 7k. So it was 20k a month split apart by fifteen days. The timing was disorganized since the first paycheck of the month actually came after the second one.

They say we work a 6x6 schedule but it is more like six to seven days of work and six to twelve hours per day depending on company needs. It is always adjusted to foreigner time so we are waking up extremely early in the morning when the sun isn't even out yet. Shifts usually end around 9am to 12pm. We get paid overtime for any time over the standard hours, but the overtime and differentials are not worth the effort. It is not like putting in large blocks of overtime but rather small and minor amounts over the week like an hour here or thirty minutes there so it feels like a lot of time but the pay doesn't coincide. Office workers usually get a free lunch if they work overtime or until 12pm.

My two biggest complaints are the pay and the way the higher ups treat the employees. Pay was very irregular in the beginning and a lot of people were left in a difficult spot when bills came because they trained us at a weird date in the middle of a month and then did not give the first pay until the end of the next month. A lot of people couldn't pay their monthly bills/dues. The higher ups like to complain and say mean things. Even the senior manager or supervisor was swearing and complaining about stats and threatening to revoke contracts based on performance. Most of us are recently hired beginners. They are always pushing for the quota but there is no professionalism.

If you do not hit the quota or finish a task, they start lecturing everyone who did not hit it yet and post all the names like look here who is zero. This job is based entirely on luck. Whether or not you complete the task is up to whoever you speak to and whether they decide to help you. You cannot convince them to help either, you have to rely on their kindness or eagerness to help basically. Most people are very unfriendly, do not answer, or hang up, shout profanities or have unusual behavior. Supervisors tell you that the expected rate for the day is very low, which means they do not even expect you to get one task done per hour, yet they still berate you and push for one per hour anyway.

I know their heads are probably on the figurative chopping block as well but they do not need to insult the team and bring down morale just to get their point across. It is like they are trying to force people to finish something that depends entirely on probability and then judging if you are good or not based on that. The people who are considered good are just the ones who had better luck that day. Regardless of what you do (in the very tiny amount that you are allowed to even do), there is no way to convince some people and yet management still thinks we can get lucky enough to follow their impossible quotas. We are not allowed to deviate from the script so you cannot even convince or ask people to help you.

It makes no sense to impose punishments or make people do apology letters just because they did not get lucky that day. All of that for little pay and no benefits is frustrating. I want to stand up to them and tell them this is unprofessional but out of respect for my peers and those who helped me, I keep my mouth shut. They are threatening people's livelihoods for reasons we cannot control. You call random people at any time of the day asking for a favor and you cannot lead their actions in any way other than following the script. Most callers would not help someone out for thirty minutes all the while giving out personal info on the phone.

Sometimes these numbers get called four times over and over again week after week. It is understandable that they are fed up with it. The calls deal with information that people do not want to talk about. If I got one of these calls I would not want to do it either. The worst part is the mass team communications. If someone has an issue with you or if there are schedule changes, they do not message you directly. They alert the whole team every single time there is an update.

Most of the time the update does not even concern you. You have to keep your eyes peeled all day because they constantly do team alerts even when you are not included. If you miss one of these alerts that had your name hidden in the middle of a hundred others (not even tagged so it is harder to find it), the supervisors start complaining that you were not paying attention and that it could be an infraction. I stay low and just try to get by but all of this is extremely annoying and degrading.

They are bugging you at all times. If you are not on yet, they tell you to get on. If you are on, they tell you to finish up already. Even if a task takes thirty minutes and they know that, they will start asking you to finish it after only three minutes. Every interaction you have is monitored and recorded for someone else to nitpick apart and chew you out later about. Overtime and night shift differentials barely pay anything but if you take a small amount of voluntary time off, it takes a big portion out of your pay. I could quit whenever I want but out of respect for those who helped me I am just keeping my head down and moving forward.

I always believed that you get more with kindness than with harshness. It is a carrot and stick situation except it is just the stick every single time. It is hard to see how someone could even slack on this job because it requires active concentration every few seconds or you will get a message from a supervisor. Management complains that they never had a team like this and says they are disappointed in us. They compare our performance to trainees (who have test projects that are so easy, like what is your name, done) and say they will not put up with this. They give out punishments and force people to confirm them as if they are power tripping. Making people write apology letters for not being lucky that day. It is not that serious and they act as if we failed to save lives.

For this bad pay and no benefits, the team is obviously going to be demotivated especially with those people in charge. They even said they would start issuing forced unpaid time off for those not getting good enough results.

I just want to know if this is the norm for BPO companies in the Philippines. I do not have much experience here, but it is appalling to see people treated like this. The situation is not that dire for the company or management to be acting like that, and the pay and lack of benefits are not worth the amount of trouble people are going through.

A lot of people work from home because they have children, elderly relatives, or sick family members to care for, yet supervisors constantly harass those who take breaks. They restrict breaks during the first few hours of work, before meal breaks, after meal breaks and near the end of the shift. They say no breaks for this many hours before, after etc everyday. While they say you can take a break if necessary, they call you out if you actually do. They even complain if a break lasts longer than five minutes.

I would be embarrassed to admit I worked here if people knew how the company and management actually behaved. Instructions and documents change constantly; what was required yesterday might be completely different today. They expect you to read all updates and respond instantly to messages while you are simultaneously talking to people on calls and reading scripts. They assume it is normal to multitask to an impossible degree, reading and responding while making sure you do not make mistakes or linger too long. You have to keep clicking and be active every few seconds for the entire shift.

They do not even like it when you take your scheduled days off. You are required to inform them days in advance for a day off that is already on your schedule. Since I started, I have already had to work twelve consecutive days twice without a day off. I want to leave because this environment is completely draining.

Never experienced being with a company that you have to inform and get permission for taking your day off days before that scheduled day off and you have to do it every single time or else it is an infraction.
