Why can't we choose our own speech recognition engine in the official Pebble App?

I want to set custom timer names which are usually only one word by voice. Wispr Flow is just bad at recognizing the words (even if I set a fixed language), let alone the local engine. Why can't we just set our own speech recognition engine like microPebble allows us to do? Or just allow companion apps to use the voice stream and not just the transcribed text.

Muninn doesn't start anymore

When I select Muninn in the menu it doesn't show up. Also the menu is blocked until I press the back button. Anyone else with the problem?

I already restarted the watch, but that didn't help.

Also opening the settings in the android app doesn't work (probably because this tries to start the app on the watch first).

I didn't try to reinstall the app yet, because I fear all data will be lost. Or is it saved somehow?

PT2 (PebbleApp 1.4.1.0 - OS v4.9.178 - Muninn 1.48)

Pebble app regression (PT2): Multiple notifications: not only the newest notification is shown

Quick example:

WhatsApp already has a notification for message 1.

Message 2 arrives:

Older app version (some weeks ago): Pebble only shows message 2

Current app version: Pebble shows message 1 and message 2

Anyone with the same problem and was this really different in previous versions?

Btw. kinda frustrating to only read index index index in the recent change logs.

Best voice dictation app to add new events to Google calendar with a custom title?

  • Should support absolute or relative (in 10 minutes) date
  • Custom title for the event
  • Works with the German language

I tried wristotle but it didn't really support custom event titles and didn't work well with German instead of English. It also has too many features for my simple needs.

Btw. basic idea behind that:

  • Have a quick reminder for stuff in the future that doesn't get lost if I don't wear the watch at the target time.
  • Save ideas for later with an integrated reminder on phone and PC.

[PT2] Pebble app pulls location every hour - is this expected behavior?

I just looked up the location usage in the privacy dashboard of my Pixel and the Pebble app is pulling the location hourly. As you can see no other app is doing it that often. The example is during night time, when my PT2 was not in use.

I use the TimeStyle watch face without weather data.

In the Pebble app settings weather refresh interval is set to 6 hours.

So is this normal or is there something wrong? If there is something wrong, how can I found out what is pulling the location that often?

Versions (not updating yet because of Munin bugs introduced with the latest version):

- Pebble app: 1.2.0.3
- Pebble Time 2 firmeware: 4.9.178

[PT2] Quick review: Snappy OS / Gorgeous screen / Poor back light / Same old quirks

After a couple of days:

  • The OS feels so much faster than my old PTS. Apps open instantly and input is just smooth. For example usage of the official timer app is a night and day difference from the PTS. It just is a lot of fun to move through the menus in general.
  • The screen looks just gorgeous in good lightning conditions especially compared to the old PTS. I think that's mostly because of the flat glas. I don't know how to describe it best. It just looks so "real".
  • While the screen looks great in good lightning conditions it is also almost as dim as the PTS in bad conditions. But now it is time to shine for the new RGB back light! Unfortunately it looks very poor and I haven't yet found a good color code (tried codes from various threads in the sub) to get the white numbers of my current watch face to look as white as on the old PTS and the blue background also always looks bad.
  • Some of the old quirks are also still there like: Apps get unloaded from the watch although there is no space problem and no update (-> same for PT2).

Btw: Time Style watch face and original Pebble Time Steel strap

PT2 connection disconnects over night on the shelf although standby mode is disabled

Does anyone else have this problem? Doesn't happen on PTS with the old pebble app.

[EU] How long did your PT 2 package stay in the Netherlands?

I guess that most EU PT 2 packages arrive in the Netherlands first and then are forwarded to the final destination country. My package is sitting since 6 days in the Netherlands with state "Customs clearance completed".

This doesn't seem right. How long did your packages stay there?

Edit: Ok, after reading the first comments there is at least some hope...

Edit2: Asendia tracking still says it's in the Netherlands, but just now I got a message from DPD that it is out for delivery today! - aaaaand it arrived!
