ModMails can't be answered after adding a ModNote

We've had a few instances where ModMails can't be answered after adding a ModNote. Switching the respond-as to the community name nor the mod-name, doesn't help. Instead, the message shown on desktop web under the text-entry field is: "This conversation is read-only. Please reply with a Mods Only note."

I've checked the user - their account is still active, not banned or suspended. We've also recently installed the Modmail Quick User Summary app, as that ends up adding a mod-note on every single incoming modmail message.

I've also seen someone else mention this: https://www.reddit.com/r/modhelp/comments/1s68gys/mod_mail_cant_reply_to_original_user_after_adding/

Appreciate any help or suggestions on how to deal with this. Thanks

Preventing ALL CAPS titles, and all bold post bodies

Hi all,

I wanted to share these two additions we've recently made to our AutoMod configuration. Hope it's useful for you all too.

---
    # Filter submissions with strictly all-caps titles
    title (case-sensitive, regex, full-text): "([A-Z0-9]|\\W)+"
    action: filter
    action_reason: "All caps title"
    comment: |
Your post has been automatically removed because the title is entirely in capital letters.
Please resubmit your post using proper capitalization.
---
    # Remove submissions where the entire body is bolded
    type: submission
    body (regex): '(?s)^\s*(?:(?:\*\*|__).+?(?:\*\*|__)\s*)+$'
    action: remove
action_reason: "Entire body is bold text [Shouting]"
    comment: |
Your post has been automatically removed due to the use of excessive bolding in the post body.

Post deleted by mods doesn't stay deleted but switches to "Approve/Remove" state

Hi,

Over the past 1-2 days, we've realised that some posts which we remove, and pick a removal reason (which also gets posted). But then when we revisit the post instead of it being removed, it's changed to displaying the "Approve" and "Remove" buttons instead. There's at least one other mod who's also been experiencing this besides myself. Looking at the ModLog for that post URL, it has the sequence:

"Remove post"
"Add removal reason"
"Remove post"

That last "Remove post" is because I had to remove the post again as it wasn't down.

Bookmarking a specific ModMail search

Hi,

I'd like to know if there's any way to bookmark a specific search within ModMail. For example, I'd like to have a bookmark which executes the search: "message_author:reddit". Is this possible? I searched on Google but didn't find any possible answers.

Demographic analysis of r/srilanka

Hello everyone,

The mod-team is currently trying to get a better understanding of the demographic of our over 188,000 fellow r/srilanka participants. So we'd appreciate if you could fill out this (anonymous) response form so we can get a better picture of all of us.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7wPnWlI7oLT2deCMJhdvyDqtvqdiCxjlAe6ae1yCTHdeJRw/viewform?hl=en

Yes, yes, we know there'll be enough replies citing Rule 10: "No surveys". Well, help us help you 😉

We appreciate your time and contributions to our community, and always striving to make our community better, and that you're actually reporting posts to us, mentioning specific rules which a post might violate. Thank you

I'm one of the mods of r/srilanka . Over the past months, we've seen an increase in modmail by members saying that their comments aren't getting through. Manually reviewing the accounts, they seem valid, not bots, real people trying to post valid responses, with good karma in general. They also don't seem to be ban-evaders. Any idea why this might be? These are removed directly by Reddit, not by AutoMod
