Wood Reclaim Yards in the Area?

Wood Reclaim Yards in the Area?

Hi, any recommendations for wood reclaim yards close by?

I'm looking for some circa 1900s floorboards and hardwood mouldings in the style of this, depth about 4inches.( Local skips aren't helping out at the moment)

Thanks

Hi,

Anybody know of a company that does this locally? It's for a house window, i know car repair companies do this, anybody know of anybody doing house windows?

Thanks

Is there a good way to remove paint from lead flashing? I've got painted flashing above my windows. The lead is original and in good condition, early 1900's so I don't want to mess about with it too much. Research seems to indicate that once its painted you're stuck with it.

If it comes down to repainting is there a definitive least-worst solution?

I have windows that have been done with a heavy gloss that look a bit rough and others that appear to have been done with aerosol paint (no brush marks, nice even surface) that are holding up much better, maybe due to the thinner covering of paint coping better with the lead expansion/contraction.

Surfing the net there seem to be all options available:

External Gloss

Masonry Paint

Hammerite

Any stories of rip-roaring lead painting success?

thanks

Wayne
