RM50k used car budget — City, CX-3, HR-V, X50 or any others?

Hi all!, I need some advice from you guys here. I’m an expat working at an MNC in Malaysia, earning around RM5.5k nett/month, with relatively low commitments — mainly ~RM800 rent.

My parents are helping me buy a car in cash with around RM50k budget. I’ll personally cover maintenance, repairs and depreciation, so I want something reliable and that won’t lose too much value over the next 2–3 years.

Currently considering:
2020 Honda City — ~RM44k
2018 Mazda CX-3 — ~RM46k
2018/19 Honda HR-V — ~RM45–50k
2021 Proton X50 — ~RM53k

all with 60-80k mileage

P.S I only drive around 500km/month.

Which would you choose considering depreciation, reliability, maintenance cost and overall ownership experience? Also open to other 2018+ small/mid-size SUVs or sedans under RM50k.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

4 Days in Chengdu Region — Jiuzhaigou + Mount Siguniang back to back

Hi everyone! I’m planning a short trip to Sichuan this November and would love some advice, especially from anyone who has done Jiuzhaigou and Mount Siguniang back-to-back.

Just to clarify: I’m not planning to explore Chengdu itself. I’m mainly using Chengdu as the transport base for Jiuzhaigou and Mount Siguniang.

My rough schedule is:
19 Nov: Morning flight Shanghai → Chengdu, arriving around 10 AM. Travel toward Jiuzhaigou and stay near the park.
20 Nov: Explore Jiuzhaigou, then return to Chengdu in the evening.
21 Nov: Day trip from Chengdu → Mount Siguniang (Shuangqiaogou) → Chengdu. Planning to hire a private car/driver.
22 Nov Sleep in and catch a afternoon flight back to my home country.

I’ll also be travelling with my 52-year-old parents, so I don’t want the itinerary to be unnecessarily exhausting. We’re fine with early mornings and long travel days, but I’m slightly concerned about doing Jiuzhaigou and Siguniang on consecutive days, especially because of the altitude.

For those who have done something similar:

  1. Is this itinerary realistic, or will it feel too rushed?
  2. How tiring is Jiuzhaigou followed by Siguniang the next day?
  3. Would you switch the order and do Siguniang first?
  4. Would you personally drop one of the two, or are they different enough that both are worth doing?

Thank you in advance guys!
