46 [F] - North Sea - A small experiment in getting to know each other
Let’s skip the standard résumé. Nobody needs another list of favourite foods and personality adjectives.
You have a free day in a city you’ve never visited. No obligations, no itinerary. Where do you go first?
I’d probably find something interesting to look at, something good to eat, and then follow whatever looks promising. Getting slightly lost is generally acceptable. Getting very lost may be blamed on poor planning or excellent adventure, depending on the outcome.
Somewhat introverted, but rarely bored. Independent, but very much interested in sharing. Equally happy with a quiet evening or an impulsive trip.
Mountains, science, and beautifully designed things (that know when to stop) tend to hold my attention. So do people who have lived in more than one cultural world and can tell you something unexpected about it.
A few questions:
What could you accidentally spend three hours learning about?
What’s something you changed your mind about?
And what does making room for another person actually look like in your life?
For me, good company means having your own life while making room for someone else’s. Being able to disagree without turning it into a constitutional crisis, communicate when something matters, laugh at yourself, and enjoy both silence and conversation.
No need to know the ending in advance. Showing up, being interested, and seeing what develops seems like a good start.
Your move.
