Suggestions for storm clean up
We had half a tree nearly land on our house. Any suggestions for a good tree service to remove it?

I’ve always dreamed of having a lovely cottage garden and a little vegetable patch, but I can’t even keep a houseplant alive. We recently moved to a house with a bid enough yard for gardening, but I’ve barely kept three plants alive since last year. I feel like I need a workshop. I don’t know anyone who can teach me. Any ideas?
EDIT: Thanks for all of the ideas and encouragement!! I’m excited to get going and will try not to get discouraged when things go wrong.
While I love the look, I’m concerned that brick or stone could slowly sink into the clay. We’ve already discovered random bricks in the yard that seem to be old edging. What do you use or recommend?
My teenage son has a large and heavy UGG comforter with a plush fleece front and fake shearling backing. It won’t fit in our washer, so I haven’t washed it in years (I know it’s bad). it smells strongly of teen boy. What’s the best way to get something like this fresh and clean? should I just toss it?
