Help with General Motors advice
I am an intern at General Motors as a controls engineer intern. I have worked for the company for awhile now and just have some questions.
I am looking into being a controls engineer at Parma stamping and metal assembly but have been hearing some not so exciting things. I love controls and have had experience working for GM that I loved. Now trying to settle down I decided Parma’s location is perfect for me.
My only concern is weekend work. I could care less about weekday hours and stress but I need my weekends for me and my wife, it’s and absolute must for me. I’d be ok with a weekend here or there but I’ve heard controls engineers there work every Saturday.
Can anyone attest to this or give me some help with this?
Edit: I have worked as an intern at a company where I was working 60-70hrs a week as an intern but was told to go to a bigger OEM for better work life balance. So far GM has been a lot better with their hours for interns, and what I have seen with their hired engineers.
