How do people start doing pushups at such a high rep count ?

Hello, I'm not an athletic person but by no means am I a lazy person either. I work out sometimes doing bodyweight exercises including pushups, sit ups, crunches, leg raises, planks. Additionally, I cycle on a weekly basis.

I've started doing pushups a few months ago and I've progressed from being able to do about 21 (7x3) in total to 35-40 (15-18 * 3) in total.

There is no issue there, the issue is I'm baffled at how people say that doing 100 pushups a day is the bare minimum for being fit. I find it highly unlikely that someone who is able to do 100 pushups would be barely fit. am I missing something ? or is this benchmark completely unrealistic ? I can't even do 100 knee pushups, yet I believe I am moderately fit. What do you think ?

is my pc good enough for gaming with VR in 2026?

Hi.

I'm Thinking about getting into PCVR mainly for Half-Life: Alyx and beat saber at first, then maybe flight sims and flat2VR mods later.

My specs:

  • Ryzen 5 7600
  • MSI Ventus RTX 3080 Ti
  • 32GB DDR5 6000 CL36
  • B650 motherboard

I’m considering a Meta Quest 3 or 3S. Quest 3 is heavily overpriced here because of taxes, so I’m unsure if it’s worth paying extra over the 3S for PCVR.

I’ll be using a wired Link cable, not wireless.

Would this setup give a solid PCVR experience in 2026 without upgrading the GPU?, I'm mostly worried about my 3080ti not being able to handle the resolution of the meta quest 3 / 3s. Also, are there any better-value headset options for PCVR around the Quest 3s price range?

What is the deal with Turkish people's obsession with football ?

Hi guys.

So I've been living in Türkiye for 8 years. and one thing that still baffles me is the obsession with football matches.

Whenever there's an upcoming match, the people talk about it nonstop, before and after. rivalries are made between friends. and even in the workplace, people talk about it nonstop. General football news is somehow known to everyone, including women.

Sometimes the discussions around football get oddly tense and political, how can a sport turn into politics? I have no clue.

When someone asks me do you support fenerbahçe or galatasaray and I say none, they get shocked: "How can you support neither ? that's impossible !! you must support someone". And they get flabbergasted when I tell them that I don't even watch the matches to begin with.

Do not get me wrong, I know that football is a super common hobby around the world. it's just that here in Türkiye, it's a hobby for literally everyone. Can someone explain to me why that is?
