I don’t know who this Riker guy is, but I am surrounded by aliens and am horny about it. AMA
for your consideration:
Because Lura Thok’s existence requires some world building that the snw writers room simply doesn’t seem to be up for, and because r/startrek doesn’t allow pictures: how do the Klingon ladies make this happen?
Because life, uh, life has apparently found a way.
Please describe the Hamp/Noho distinction, tryna see smthn
Ok: I know the general vibe of the parameters of who considered themselves to be “Hamp” people and who thought of themselves as “NoHo” people back in the 90s, but since I still see bumper stickers: let’s hear it:
What constitutes Hamp, and what constitutes Noho, and what distinguishes the two in your understanding?
Style guide/source bibles for major Star Trek cultures?
Once upon a time, before the conclusion of the Dominion War and the return of Voyager, I stumbled upon a guide to the planets and species of TOS (probably at some elementary school sleepover) , and read through the whole thing in a night.
Have there been similar guides, updated for 90s trek? Or even better, more in-depth, fleshed out style guides for individual species? I’ve heard Armin Shimerman did a bunch of extracurricular work with other ferengi actors in DS9 to flesh out the culture, wondering if any of that ended up recorded someplace accessible, or if there were similar undertakings for the Cardassians, the Bajorans, and so forth. Not just looking for costuming and prop style guides, but those would be awesome too.
Currently deep-diving trek nerdery as an alternative to grappling with life here in the lead up to the much-delayed Eugenics Wars, so any suggestions are welcome.
