What Is The Etiquette for Nudity and/or Jamaharon on the Holodeck?

Do the holodecks have a privacy setting or a doorbell so users can get dressed before someone enters? Or do you walk in at your own risk and you can't unsee Riker and Worf having jamaharon? Could you have jamaharon with a holoversion of a crew member? What about really perverted stuff, like Geordi having jamaharon with Data's detached head, or Wesley having jamaharon with his mother and The Traveler? What are the holodeck rules and etiquette?

The founders made each Jem Hadar a different person, they could have made them all identical clones

And they could have all been played by Jeffrey Combs.

Caribou Gorn

It gives me confidence. It's got a sort of woody quality about it. Much better than 'newspaper' or 'litterbin'.

Starting to suspect those orange grid lines on the holodeck don’t even do anything.

They don’t have numbers on them, so you can’t use them for casual measurements. They don’t seem to be where the holograms come from or make the “woosh” sound. Apparently some holorooms don’t even have them.

But they do look pretty.

Tribble got into my pantry, what’s the best way to cook tribble?

It’s me again acting Captain Fo’Larn the Caitian on these forums, while the situation with the romulan vessel still has yet to be dealt with another problem has arrived, my beloved pet tribble has gotten into my private stock of real food, naturally now it has multiplied. Luckily my tribble has a collar so I’m not getting them mixed up, however now there are an excess of tribble in my cabin, now killing them is not hard a good dagger through them seems to do just fine however, I cannot let the corpses go to waste. Normally once I feed my tribble I kill the offspring and fry it into nuggets, but with this many I’m thinking I would get tired of nuggets rather fast and as would my husband.

In better news I am confident that my tribble coat will be finished today. But that is not my concern, please tell me how you’d cook your tribble

Has anyone done a background check on this guy? He has taken an unnatural interest in my underage son.

u/digdugdang — 1 day ago

I forgot to charge my combadge

Now I’m on an away mission with the Captain and I’m too embarrassed to mention it.

Am I going to be fine if I just wait until he calls for the entire party to beam back to the ship?

What are the chances that he didn’t charge his either? Are we all going to be stuck here?

TIFU by explaining human skintone diversity to my Andorian CO

Hi there, I have made an awful, awful mistake. See, my CO was originally an officer in the Andorian national fleet before transferring to Starfleet, and while he's not... hostile to humans, he's also not used to working with them, and he's pretty "old-fashioned" as some might say. As in, he makes liberal use of the word "pinkskin."

Now normally I'm fine letting my superior officers requisition sufficient rope with which to hang themselves but for some reason I got it in my head that it would be a good idea to explain to him that "pinkskin" is maybe not a word he should be using to talk about humans, or really anyone, because it's offensive. He asked me why it's offensive, saying that humans have pink skin, it's an accurate description, and there's nothing wrong with it, in fact pink is his husband's favorite color! For some fucking reason I decided to make my angle of attack "Not all humans are pink."

That actually surprised him, apparently he had never actually seen a non-pink human, and he made me pull up photos of humans of various hues and tones, and after a while looking over them he sorta nodded thoughtfully and said he'd be more careful next time. Like a fucking moron, I took this as a good sign.

You can imagine the porcelain white my face turned when we were at a diplomatic summit and my dipshit CO walked up, shook Admiral Freeman's hand, and called him "brownskin."

I'm just praying nobody finds out this was my fault because his wife literally suplexed him and broke both his antennae, and I'm not coming back from that, ever. Anyone have any recommendations for planets to run to in case somebody makes the connection?

I'm the head of Xenobiology at Starfleet Command. We have just completed the most thorough anatomical study of the Crystalline Entity to date.

All rooms need to be clearly labelled

How do you get anywhere on a ship when all the corridors look the same.

Hi everyone, the crystaline entity here. Out of courtesy, please refrain from using the "S-slur" to refer to my people.

"Snowflake." Yes, we are aware that's what we look like. But you wouldn't call a Cardassian a "spoonhead" would you? Let's work on practicing basic empathy. Thanks!

Reddit Has Spoken: Yes, Data Has Testicles and a Butthole.

Data being fully functional raises several new and troubling questions, namely:

  1. Why did Dr. Soong give Data testicles and a butthole?
  2. What was Dr. Soong's model for designing Data's testicles and butthole?
  3. How frequently does Geordi examine Data's testicles and butthole?
  4. When Data is linked to the ship's computer, can Geordi run Data's orgasm subroutine?
  5. If Data is kicked in the testicles, does he experience pain?
  6. If Data has his butthole prodded, does he experience pleasure?
  7. When Data merges with other systems, can they access his orgasm subroutine?

Fun Facts About Trek Character Names That Are Absolutely True

In the late 1980s Americans started using the word "data" to describe information stored on computers as a nod to Brent Spiner's character in Star Trek TNG

Wesley Crusher's character was named after Paul Wesley who played Jim Kirk.

Una Chin-Riley's character is named after a popular card game, part of the human face, and Buffy's love interest in the 4th season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I'm done with crappy NuTrek! At **most** I'll watch 12 more episodes of SNW. And maybe 10 more episodes of Starfleet Academy. But then I'm DONE!
