Who do you wish hooked up but never did? I’ll start, Riker and the Binars

I’m rewatching 11001001 and feel like there’s a missed opportunity to tell a true love story. Which characters were on the show that you wish hooked up, but we never got to see?

Will the transporter work on ghosts?

Ghosts don't have any matter to transport, but if the transporter can't beam souls, then that pretty much conclusively resolves the "does beaming kill you" debate.

What about vampires? Mirrors don't work on them, what about the transporter?

I accidentally drank my station’s security chief.

So I was pretty thirsty while I was doing some routine maintenance in his quarters and saw what looked like some home-brewed Bajoran cider.

Anyway later I found out he’s a shapeshifter and everyone is talking about how he’s gone missing and I’m sweating a little bit.

What if...?

What if in all the shitty nutrek, from Picard to grimdark Discovery and everything in between... it was all just the Traveler showing Wesley what life would be like if he stayed a part of the crew of the Enterprise?

A reverse Its a Wonderful Life, if you'd like (and I know you'd like, you filthy Spoonhead lovers!).

What if its all Wesley being shown all of the atrocities that people past and present will have to endure if he doesnt yeet himself from the timeline completely?

Anyway, thats how I like to imagine it going down because it makes Bev childfree, single, and ready to mingle!!

Star Fleet counselor said that due to the EXTREME nature of my addiction they are revoking my holodeck and terminal access, is this what’s referred to as “Fighting the Gorn” in the fleet?

I didn’t want to go all “cold gagh” on this, but the attached picture kinda turns me on. Captain said that he simply couldn’t risk having someone “in my condition” on the bridge facing the view screen without a console obstructing the view of my pants…

u/jiminaknot — 9 hours ago

Before the Brahm’s incident we didn’t need no EMHs. Wanted a doctor, point the holodeck to some speeches by McCoy and his personal logs and you’ve got a 90.63% facsimile ready for surgery. So what if he’s from Alabama. LaForge ruined it for everyone.

Look I agree our counselor is a total babe but why do all of the humans feel the need to point out that her sister or whatever Helen Troi is much more beautiful? And why is so controversial Helen is dating Lt. Paris?

Wait so, is it because the head sucks at looking like Brent Spiner, or does Brent Spiner suck at looking like an android?

I mean are all androids supposed to look all shiny and plasticy and Brent Spiner just has unconvincing makeup? Maybe they should have put more effort into it than a simple airbrush and contact lense?

Starfleet is shutting down the Wolf 359 Re-enactment Society

I know, disgusting.

We've had another letter from Starfleet command complaining about being "insensitive" and "offensive", but all we're trying to do is meet up in a public park once a month for a little historical battle re-enactment.

We're no different that the Starfleet officers who re-enact battles like the Alamo or dress in old-timey clothes. We just have better costumes and meet in a physical place instead of the holodeck.

Speak to your Federation representative today! Don't let Starfleet overreach and take away our civil freedoms to re-enact their massive disasters!

----------------------------------------------------------------

And yes, the Federation Day even is still going ahead. Meet up in Bois De Boulogne park in Paris at midday. Starfleet to the north-east of the park, and Borg to the north-west. Those dressed as ships on the south side where your pre-booked lake-boats will be waiting for you.

If episode titles are out of order on one of the streaming services that provide the shittiest possible quality being the profit-mongering delivery middleman for classic Star Trek shows, then you are REQUIRED to report these errors to everyone on Reddit

This is MANDATORY. Don't even think about letting it go without telling us. You are being watched.

What's the "shopping cart test" for starships?

What's something a crew does that requires very little effort and is helpful to other ships, to the point where not doing it makes them an asshole? I think it's properly disposing of waste. You can easily break it down for reuse in replicators or if you don't want to eat your own shit, launch it into a star. Do not just eject it into space where everyone can see it.

Similarly, what about on a species level? I think it's informing Starfleet of any long term colony/ hibernation ships you launched pre-warp so they can go get picked up.

Psychosis

So… I was on the Starship Voyager for seven long freaking years. I think I’m suffering psychosis from it? I mean there are literally Borg everywhere and don’t get me started on the Kazon. I’ve been seeing the EPH (Emergency Psychology Hologram) for a while now about it but he tends to go all ECH on me from time to time and doesn’t finish our sessions. What a jerk.

Captain’s log: extended cut

You ever think people forgot to end their logs and ended up recording much longer than they wanted to and much more than they wanted to?

I could see this being used in a murder-mystery-esque episode where the last conversation the person has can be heard over their log. Unintentional to be there but recorded nonetheless. Sorry if that’s already been done lol

I thought my crewmate was an alien. Turns out he's just really ugly

I've been working with this fellow named Oliver for a few months now. He's a nice guy and a really capable engineer, but he's very strange looking, almost repulsive. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly about his appearance that bothers me. Anyway, I figured we had enough of a rapport that I could ask him what his species was because I'd never seen another one of his kind before. Oh man, what a mistake. He was so offended that he reported me and I've re-assigned to another department. I have a meeting with the first officer and the ship's counselor tomorrow, so this is pretty serious. I mean, yeah, he has a human name and that should've been a clue but it's not that uncommon nowadays for people to give their kids names from other cultures or species. I once met a Klingon named Alexander! I honestly think they're blowing this out of proportion.

Qurvivors Anonymous

Hello, all.

I've attended a few meetings, and I'm finally ready to speak.

I first encountered Q on a Starfleet ship, which I won't mention. Some of my crewmates, who had recently been promoted as junior officers, were on a survey mission. They were overdue, and I was leading my first rescue operation to assist them.

Well, I'll save you the gory details, but the megnetosphere of the planet prevented teleportation and randomly affected multiple systems for shuttlecraft during entry. My team experienced this as just a replicator jam and minor console sparking. The first crew, we would discover, lost impulse engines and inertial dampeners. We had to identify them by what was stuck to the, um, walls and ceiling.

Needless to say, this haunted me for weeks after. My team had to drink ration coffee, and those guys are having their pips sent home. One night, I was awake and staring at the ceiling, and Q appeared beside me in bed. Side note- it's really frustrating and jarring when the guy shows up unannounced like that, right!! Like, now I can't take a sonic shower without looking over my shoulder for that little grin on his stupid, omnipotent, punchable face!

Sorry, sorry. It's something I'm still working on. Anyway. Q offered me a chance at experiencing a reality where the survey team survived, and my security team was never sent to, um, collect them. So, everyone was fine and I felt wonderful. At first.

Over the days and weeks that followed, members of the survey team were being given more prestigious assignments. I kept getting sidelined. I was told that the security guy from the survey team, who shares my rank, is in line for a promotion that was given to me! Or rather, I received it in my timeline. When he got the promotion, in record time, I went to his little party. I listened to him crack jokes and pump himself up. I felt so angry.

Anyway, I asked Q to put things back like they were. I justified it as a noble thing. I was just "protecting the timeline." It's what my *training* required. "I did it for the uniform," and such. Well, it was really for my career. About three months out, nobody is the wiser, and I'm doing well at work. But it's hard living with it. Survivor's guilt is one thing, but being given the option to change history and the knowledge that I chose this reality is an especially cruel thing for a higher being to do to a guy.

Anyway, I'm willing to listen to anyone else's Q story. People say it helps.

Senior officers keep running dangerous experiments in common areas of main engineering rather than use one of the many labs onboard. I feel endangered and don't know who talk to about this.

Sisko's entire purpose was to terminate Winn and Dukat.

The Prophets hat3d them so much, they went back in time to make a hitman emissary that would eventually take them both out

Obviouslyz they couldn't leave a witness so we never see him again.
