Core Psychiatry Training 2026 Megathread
With preferencing opening soon on the 24th, thought it was time for a thread like this to be created to discuss choices.
Also found this very comprehensive spreadsheet from the last 2 years for MSRA scores/ranks/offers/upgrades etc. I've created a tab for 2026 and formatted the MSRA column so it automatically sorts rows in descending order once entered. Please keep it nice and tidy, providing all details so it’s helpful for future applicants as well!

I'm aware 2nd sitting is still ongoing and results/ranks won't be out for a few weeks, but a fair number would have gotten their scores from applications to other specialties (myself included; applied to BBT in Scotland but unsuccessful; psychiatry is my first choice anyway), so might be worthwhile slowly adding data to the 2026 tab and edit carefully along the way to gauge where we are, which regions/deaneries folks are hoping to get into, and whether psychiatry is your first choice.
Also see this FOI for last year's August intake which breaks down MSRA scores & offers by deanery. Scored 540 this year and hoping for South East Scotland, but chances seem very slim by looking at cutoffs for other specialties..

MSRA scores are out! (18/03) No rank as of yet, please keep the spreadsheet tidy when adding your scores :)
