WHV advice

For any who did a WHV inNew Zealand, how did life turn out?

I'm seriously considering taking the leap and would love to hear from people who've actually done it. I have abt 8years of accounting experience, my partner works in marketing .

Some questions I have:

Did you end up finding a job that led to PR or permanent residency?

What was your occupation?

How long did it take you to find a job?

Was the experience what you expected, or completely different?

Did you quit a stable job high paying job before moving?

How old were you when you went?

How much savings did you have before leaving? Looking back, was it enough, too much, or too little?

Which state/city did you start off in, and would you recommend it?

If you're still there, are you happy with your decision?

Would really appreciate hearing both success stories and the struggles. I feel like most of what I see online is either "best decision ever" or "it didn't work out," so it'd be great to hear the full picture.
Thanks in advance!

For any Singaporeans who did a WHV in Australia or New Zealand, how did life turn out?

Continue? Surrender ?

Hi everyone!
Appreciate your advice on this.
Please be nice 🫣

Early 30s and purchased a China Taiping i-Cash plan in 2019. This year will be the final year of my premium payments (8,773 yearly)

Plan details:
Total premiums paid: $70,184
Guaranteed annual cashback: $1,250 per year
There is an unguaranteed portion but the funds are not doing well.

Once the premium payment term ends (next year) , would it be more beneficial to continue holding the policy and receive the annual cashback, or should I surrender/withdraw the policy and invest the proceeds elsewhere?

Surrender value will be the same amt. as the premiums paid .

Coast? Barista? FIRE

30F, married, dog, no plans to have children
IBKR: 207K USD invested - includes 23.4K USD unrealised gains. (Mostly in ETFs)
ES3: market value 21k SGD
Cash: 120k SGD

Housing loan (my share) - left with 80k sgd

Monthly expenses ~ 1.5k sgd

Quit job in April due to burn out and stress
Started a new job in May. Feel like quitting as I am starting to feel overwhelmed.

Always hated my occupation and stuck it out for a relatively decent pay of 70-80k sgd per year including bonus.

What can I do ? Can I leave my job ? Or just endure it?
My husband is okay with me taking a year break but I don’t see the point as it sticking a bandage to the situation.

OG plan was to retire at 40 and move ard SEA for the low living cost but I don’t think I can make it till 40 as I am dreading everyday and the thought of it gives me stress.
