Santa Maria (Ealing)

Prior to entering Santa Maria, my expectations weren't the highest and this is simply due to the fact that it's a chain. I'm not ridiculing all chains considering we have some decent ones, but once private equity gets involved. The drop in quality often follows due to cutting corners.

This however, was different.

Arancino Truffle & Mushrooms. (8.5/10)

Ordered 2 portions of these and upon first bite. You get a flavour bomb of earthy goodness. If you're a truffle or mushroom lover in general. This will send you straight to heaven. It was rich, creamy, decadent and ratioed perfectly, outer coating to filling.

San Rocco (9/10)

This one was my favourite and I say that as a diehard Margherita fan. As basic as I may be when it comes to this style. There's nothing like fresh tomato, basil, olive oil and cheese on bread.

However this blew me away. I was skeptical due to the aubergine aspect considering I've never paired aubergine on pizza before. But my god this was special.

Santa Margherita (Spicy) (7/10)

I would have given this an 8 but my parents decided to get the spicy version and that ruined it for me. Spice and Margherita is a match made in confusion. It wasn't bad, just confusing and whilst I enjoy spice. I enjoy tasting the flavours in my food as well.

All in All, this is a chain I would highly recommend.

It's not quite Breadstall, L'oro Di Napoli or Dough Hands but it's a solid choice and great.
