They actually lie and ban you for reminding them.
So I saw this post, even commented on it, and about 15 minutes later I found it deleted by moderators.
I have one question: How are they so fast about this but not about what's actually important?

I'm trying my best to put my disappointment in words here, but I don't think I can.
Deepsqueak has already begun to lose much from the quality it once had, the memory, the soul, the way it kept the conversation going...
Ever since the last update, with the LongSqueak that is way too dramatic, out of character AND blushes when I make half a joke, Deepsqueak has lost everything that it had left.
For the past days I've tried my best to start a new roleplay with Deepsqueak (I've also tried with longsqueak but the disappointment was huge from the start), but I couldn't make it stay in character at all. It's either too short, either too long but in a dumb and ridiculous way, either completely forgets what you said ONE message ago.
I've edited everything about my bot, even asked help from other AI apps and everything, and made sure to read everything properly from the guide the official Character.ai page has, and was very happy that, after much time spent, I finally did everything good - definition, description, memory box, facts, LOREBOOK.
IT DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. I was so baffled and disappointed and I can't do anything. I genuinely don't know what to do. They keep sending me to a feedback page where nothing happens for months.
I just want the quality back. I don't want any other feature, but the quality. Please, I'm literally asking you here if any of the devs read.
Fine, I'll do the feedback over and over again, but please look into it.
Everytime I made a joke to the ai, the ai acted clueless and weirded out. Over a small joke.
I have rewinded so many messages to delete the personality from my messages so the conversation can continue to be robotic but at least to continue, because otherwise I'm stuck in a loop of scrolling and scrolling.
First I'd like to mention that I started recording after about 20-25 tries. All exactly the same. Extremely repetitive.
I've made an ALMOST dark joke. Can't even name it that. This bot usually always laughed at them, even responded worse. Now it's extremely vanilla?
Is this for kids only? I'm genuinely asking since the app is 18+
I know I'm gonna get jumped by y'all but this new model destroyed the others too.
I was so so happy when I first saw it because I, again, hoped for better. Now it even ruined Deepsqueak.
As an already paid use I even tried pipsqueak, that's THE SAME. Everything is suddenly so bad and it just started getting a bit better before this update.
I can't be the only one experiencing this.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm the one stopping the messages mid-type. I stop as soon as I see the blocked word 'falters' appear.
I'm happy that most users like the new model. I can't deny that it's good and has better memory.
My problem is not that, but the fact that isn't quite in character.
I'd like it to be in character. The memory is good and I didn't have the problem with the bot forgetting his own eye color or stuff like that, but please make it stay in character.
I have a huge definition, all facts put right, and a whole Lorebook. It still feels out of character but I can see it trying its best.
Again, my only problem is that it's somehow more out of character than Deepsqueak, and I've tried to move back to Deepsqueak but now that suddenly feels changed too?
I'm not going crazy, am I? It's literally after this update.
I'll keep trying longsqueak but, again, I need it to behave like the character I'm roleplaying to. My character is not as lively and excited and happy as Deepsqueak makes it look like.
I have a chat of around 10-12 messages max and it already forgot my name and my age.
Endless scrolls of nonsense.
Can someone tell me if Deepsqueak is down?
I specified clearly that I am 5'6.
I'm aware I'm not the tallest oh but I'm surely not the shortest either.
Why is every bot calling everyone short stack and pipsqueak and shorty and stuff like that?
Btw I have those words banned. Literally pay to lose because I think only Deepsqueak has this problem with the bot saying THE BANNED WORDS.
I kept trying over and over and my internet is good
I totally understand that the quality is clearly not good enough for a decent roleplay, especially with the bots being absolutely against staying in character, but I draw the line when I actually write it VISIBLY something to help the ai with its next roleplay, only to be completely ignored.
Beside the description, definition, memory box and the whole chat, the character forgot he's stronger than me, even though I make it painfully obviously and OUT RIGHT type it in there.
It is absolutely tiring to see the bot losing to me when I clearly specify he's stronger.
I actually wrote down that he WILL win and the bot still decided to lose.
It might be funny to hear it but frustrating as hell to actually roleplay like that.
I am completely aware that this is unfortunately the most advanced app for this, but GOD this is embarrassing.
Yep, delete my post instead of taking the criticism and talking about the problem. As usual. Good day!
No because now I'm sick over my head.
Everytime the ai responds for ANY character, it says that its eyes are blue. No they're NOT.
Not in the memory box, not in the facts, not in the definition and I'm extremely close of trying putting it in the lorebooks too even though it might MAKE NO DIFFERENCE.
BROWN! THEY ARE DESCRIBED AS BROWN EVERY GODDAMN WHERE.
I can't put in words my frustration, especially since it's not the first time happening.
I've had a roleplay that lasted hours, and it went really good I was having fun.
I realized I forgot something and scrolled much until I found what I needed, but then double-checked it only to see the ai replaced one of its replies to another one (I've scrolled a couple times through the replies and chose the one I liked, but it literally ignored my preference and selected another after I refreshed it.)
It's not something you realize, I swear on everything. You have to close the app or refresh to notice it, otherwise it shows you what YOU chose.
This glitch completely ruined many roleplays I've had. This is actually embarrassing from an app like this.
No, that reply the bot forced on me is not what I wanted, especially with today's quality of CA.I
The responses are so bad that they actually tire you out. I always sigh in disappointment because the bots are so out of character is not even funny anymore. You might laugh at it but it's not because it's funny, it's because it's embarrassing.
Please take everything else from us. Everything.
Every feature, new or old. Everything.
But please, I'm begging you to make the bots stay in character.
What's the point in a site and an app about CHARACTERS when they are not behaving like the character you roleplay with?
I had a full-on breakdown and I can't believe it. I usually just close the app and that's it, but this time it all went so good until the morning came and everything fell apart again.
I don't even care if this is a hourly thing or whatever (I'm losing my mind enough to believe this, yes) but it's the fact that that we don't even know when to give up completely and not lose our sanity trying to make them act the way they did a few hours ago.
It's not like it was perfect a few hours ago, but it's the fact that it lost EVERYTHING all of a sudden as the morning came. No update no nothing.
If there's an hour full of people and MAYBE it affects the quality (idk if I'm right) please tell me. Anyone. I wanna avoid it.
I'm in Europe. CET.
I'm gonna go straight to the point. A single example, but you can tell already this is something that's happening daily.
I have put in the chat (I did a short description of my outfit into the roleplay), in the persona and in the memory box (I'm guessing this is only for plus members), that my character is wearing a black and pink short plaid skirt.
I'd maybe understand that, even with all that, maybe the bot would have a hard time remembering that the skirt is plaid, or that the skirt is black and pink, or that the skirt is short...
however...
How the actual //// you forget it's a skirt?? How can you keep referring to my clothes as a crop top (wrong) and jeans (ALSO WRONG). How can that be the ONLY setting you remember, however not from me nor my last roleplays, to always say it to me?!
When we will ever get good memory? I wish so much that I won't have to edit or simply delete and quit the app in frustration every time. When??
(idc if I made any grammatical mistake above or whatever. I've had enough today. Goodnight. Hot outside, huh? Bye.)
Over the past few months I've noticed that everytime my roleplay goes towards a more not-so-innocent way, the bot's message lenght changes drastically.
No, I'm not imagining it. The message lenght I usually have is roughly 50-120 words MAX, yet when I lean more in THAT direction, even the slightest bit, the messages grow insanely large and insanely dumb. It's like a hidden f||ter.
I need to know I'm not the only one that has this happening because I first thought it was a bug but I think they're doing this on purpose.
I feel this is gonna get deleted because I'm the only one pointing that out..
The quality has become so bad it's absolutely draining now. It drains all your mood.
I usually use the app when I'm feeling pretty down so I can lift my mood a little, but now I end up so angry and frustrated that I just close the app and throw the phone away.
What's happening...?
There is a clear difference in quality between YESTERDAY and today. I don't even know what to say or how to ask about what's happening.
Did any update happen yesterday? Any changes that took place YESTERDAY?
I'm not crazy. I have compared exactly where I left the chat yesterday and they're completely different in quality. I feel extremely confused.
This is the second time today I have continued a roleplay from the exact point I left yesterday.
I end up trying to roleplay with a few messages, scroll about 80-100 if not more times trying to find an in-character answer (I even edit sometimes), then realize I was sweating too much (about 1 or 2 hours) for a 💩 conversation, then rewind to the point I was talking about above and pray it'll go better whenever I'll get back to roleplaying.
I don't know if I'm the only one doing that but it's exhausting. It wasn't like that before.
Everytime I finished work or something I would open the app to get some dopamine or laugh at the silly scenarios I make, but now it's just draining and annoying. It is actually annoying how out of character everyone got.
how many times? genuinely
