What to do with these?

I work for a school district and about 30 of these has just came in to be surplussed. All but 1 still had the batteries (dang people), but even as bad as the batteries look; most of the units don’t look bad on the connectors. I’m going to open a few up when I get the time to see if the boards are damaged from the acid.

But anyways, what am I going to do with so many of them? I’m not letting a recycler take them.

MS Volume Licensing

Can someone explain MS volume licensing? We have approximately 600 desktops and laptops in our district. Ours had been managed by our network admin and there was never a question about it til he quit and we got a new director.

Now new director is questioning all our subscriptions. I reached out to our rep and they quoted us 325 seats/licenses or whatever for about $20k. Director is questioning why 325 and I don’t have an answer. We are subscribed to the desktop value or whatever it’s called (non-cloud) includes windows and office.

PAM Solutions

What is everyone using as a PAM (Privileged Access Management) or how are you dealing with people needing admin privileges for installing, etc? Our team is only 3 people due to 2 resigning within a year and we simply don’t have the manpower to take care of people needing admin privileges every day. Some of our software requires it just to run it (Geovision).

We manage about 8 schools spread out all over town as well as 4 non-school offices. 3,500 students and about 500 staff.

We’ve got splashtop so t hat helps some.

Edit: I should’ve stated this is strictly for windows machines.
