Quite worried I’m being underpaid but at the same time have only just joined my company

I’ve been in my company for about 8 months now and it’s in the shipping and maritime sector. For about 6-7 years of experience I’m only getting paid 6.1k and package is ard 15 months total.

I’m from corp comms too, can anyone advise me? :/

Potential to Cheat?

I have recently been getting along very well with one of my male colleagues, even other colleagues have told me that we clic super well and it’s almost as if we’ve known each other before meeting.

We’ve been meeting for coffee 1 on 1 during work hours just to chat about work and to distress, and he also sent me to somewhere he was going to after work too.

I’m not sure if he’s gay or straight, but something about our interactions and the fact that I actually enjoy talking to him makes me feel that he might be a sister, but he constantly tells me that he has a girlfriend and he also knows I’m in a relationship.

My main question is, should I distance myself? I do enjoy his company very much, have been super sian about my job so far, but can’t help but feel like we’ve been getting too close for comfort if he is straight.

Or should I monitor further to see how? Would be quite sian to distance myself from this friendship if he rly did turn out to be straight too.

Financial advice for condo or hdb or just invest

Hi all, I’m 30F, my husband is 33M, we have around 13k in combined income, and currently have a car around 1.5k a month and are looking if we should sell our car (initially bought for our baby but then lost him) to upgrade into a condo for investment purposes.

It will be around 1.8mil, 2.8k cash outlay on top of around 2.6k CPF OA contributions I believe.

We currently invest around 2.1k a month and are planning to increase it as our salary increases by 3% year on year. Looking to retire around 50 years old too, only 100k in cash as emergency funds and some investments but not substantial.

Should we:

  1. sell the car regardless, since it is a depreciating asset and forgo the convenience when we do have a kid (are trying at the moment)
    - how do you manage without a car + a kid, think we are most concerned about infant care because I mean to go back to work after giving birth too.

  2. upgrade to a condo for investment purposes, or just stay in our current 4 room flat valued at around 820k at the moment?

  3. invest the extra cash from the car (if we do sell) instead of getting the condo?

TLDR; do we sell car? And if we do, buy condo or continue investing instead?

Thanks all!

I’m curious, how much are you planning to save or set aside for retirement considering that there’s also CPF Life payouts 65 years onwards.

How do you begin to plan for it and settle for a number too? It seems so easy to just overestimate and inflate the numbers, or think of ‘worst case’ scenarios while planning. Somehow calculated till I needed 18 mil but I’m quite sure it’s inaccurate LOL
