Last week a volunteer civilian police force installed a surveillance camera and license plate reader on a private building at the intersection of FtHam and E3rd. It very clearly points at the intersection, flashes red when cars drive by, and appears to cover a wide visual. Council Member Shahana Hanif’s office is investigating, but folks with questions or concerns may still wish to register them with her office at District39@council.nyc.gov or (718) 499-1090.
