Okay, I think I dissociated when I first read this. How did V make a quinque out of Kuzen? Was Aogiri preserving his corpse in Rushima?

I think… the story would have been better if Haise were in V like Arima

Not necessarily as someone who knew all the plot twists from mid-Re, but by better portraying the Washuu's control over their territories and developing more members of V (or at least exploring Kaiko's character more fully, assuming we use him as a representative for all V) instead of them simply being the Washuu's delusional enforcers trying to become ghoulized faster and basically aspire to what the Washuu once were. They could also have given more information about the original One-Eyed King and perhaps introduced theories about the origin of ghouls (although I think that works better as a mystery). Or maybe I just didn't understand Furuta's allies?

So, about Furuta…

I've seen many interpretations.

Some say he just wanted to have fun, others that he was a misanthrope, and still others that he wanted to unite humans and ghouls (wtf).

Seriously, is the only thing the entire fandom agrees on about him that deep down he just wanted a normal life and that he was a Rize simp?

Do you think that in the original Tokyo Ghoul, Touka didn't know how to change the shape of her kagune or simply didn't teach it to Kaneki?

I mean, he doesn't know

Amon, it's only been 2 months, how do you remember it like this?

Amon had such a good perception of Kaneki that, not only gave him more aura, but even before the brutal improvement in Ishida's drawing after the torture, he dedicated a small panel to him that, out of context, seems on par with Re.

Has Touka ever been seen with low pigtails at Anteiku?

I found this little illustration towards the end of the Japanese edition of the Zakki: Re artbook (I don't have the translated version, so I don't know if it's in the version of any other region), but I don't remember Touka ever wearing low pigtails in any chapter of OG TG other than when they deliver false information to the CCG.

Does this mean Ishida changed his mind about the designs for the second half? I mean, I'm partly glad because then in a hypothetical remake (it's not going to happen 😢) Nishio wouldn't have that awful hairstyle from the second half, but it feels weird.

I've always found it curious abput the colors

I've always found it curious how someone could imagine that Tokyo Ghoul in color would be realistic or maybe even grayish, and then there's Ishida himself making it look colorful but somehow functional, to the point where in the redraw of chapter 1 he more or less accepted the idea of the colored kagune from the anime and mixed Rize's kagune with pink and purple tones

Kaneki vs Amon and Juuzou vs Kaneki. Tokyo Ghoul was always like that

I feel like the biggest problem with the 24th Ward siege arc was precisely that Ishida got carried away with irrelevant fights as if this were some kind of shonen finale arc with everyone fighting everyone, and no, well, Tokyo Ghoul:re, the sequel to a manga that OMITTED ITS MOST IMPORTANT FIGHT.

Literally, the Kaneki vs. Amon fight has the important dialogue at the beginning, and when the fight between their most powerful forms starts… “well, let’s skip this, let’s see Juuzou with Shinohara, and the next time we see these two, let’s show Amon’s thoughts and not see any more of the fight until the final onslaught, and that’s it.”

Looking at it from a volume perspective (re volume 13), the first half was generally good. The fight between Roma and Shiko against Urie, even though it seemed unnecessarily drawn out to me (Roma being basically a cockroach that doesn't die even if you kill it 3 times), worked well in conjunction with the beginning of the siege of the 24th Ward.

What does Squad 0 against Hajime and Ui matter if the relevant conversation with Ui isn't going to happen until the Dragon War and we already knew squad 0 was fighting Hajime anyway? What does Yomo vs. Aura and Mutsuki matter if the only thing necessary was seeing that final part where Yomo survives? Naki vs. the Oggai... I feel it was alright, but it needed a moment of calm afterward, perhaps Naki hallucinating and talking to Yamori while we see that he was able to kill them all. I won't say anything about Hinami vs. Juuzou; I think it's a good indication that Kaneki has returned, all things considered.

I feel there was a similar problem as with Rushima, showing too much of Kurona vs. the Juuzou Squad or Miza's perspective. These unnecessary fights ended up leading the fandom to think that a fight with nothing relevant to say because it's the One-Eyed King willing to cripple humans (remember Aura's aunt who had her legs ripped off) versus someone who shuts down emotionally at the slightest doubt... literally the only thing that could contribute anything to this fight are Abara's thoughts, which at this point in the story would be more of a hindrance than anything else.

Ishida concluding "the side view wasn't good for a cover" in the Zakki artbook… the same guy in the next volume

I don't know, I just saw the first live-action movie (good adaptation, but the acting... Ugh) and I found it curious that the title of the sequel was Tokyo Ghoul S

This isn't the account I have dedicated to the project; I hid posts from that account because I couldn't meet a certain deadline I set for showing you progress due to personal reasons.

For now, I wanted to start showing something, and I'll probably delete this post when I publish the progress updates I want.

If things don't get complicated, in theory (because I no longer trust myself when it comes to these self-imposed deadlines), one of the updates should be published on the 15th anniversary of the TG manga, and another on Kaneki's birthday.

Let's ignore the fact that they ruined the fight's coherence by removing Kaneki's thoughts and simplifying the choreography, because Unravel could still work just as well as in the anime with the canon version of the fight.

Do you think adding Unravel to Kaneki vs Jason was a good or bad idea?
