Semien was safe. (Replay from Nats broadcast) SNY missed it.

see photo 5 of 6. Apologies didn’t realize the bottom of the other frames would be cropped. From SNYs replays he looked safe. but from these angles Semien looked like he beat it by a hair. couldn't get a better freeze frame. still remarkable we didn’t score bases juiced none out!

I am not sure how they won. Bases loaded no body out, no runs in the 9th. Then, WSH had a man on 2B no body out in the bottom ninth and they escape? Mets win 2-1

Did the first baseman’s foot come off the bag in the top of the 9th, I think that’s why Semien was ruled safe.

im not gonna be too hard on Melendez cause he hit two foul HR and was batting 8th. It’s exactly how things are supposed to go.

i mean during the bottom of the 9th it felt inevitable that WSH was gonna win it-it just felt like they were the better team but not everything is about offense.

That ball was gonna hit the top of the fence. Morobito will tell you he should make that catch but not an easy play. This is on McLean for walking thw entire planet with two outs.

Maybe Morobito has to make that catch. Heal of the glove man. Maybe Ewing doesnt let Woods score thete and doesnt strike out looking with RISP too. Playing TT was just bad juju

I am happy Semien getting hits but this will not be a Springer like renaissance. He is blocking too many players. If you didn’t value Alonso and Nimmo because of their age why go out of your way bring in a 35 year old worth $80M/3years.

We got a kid named Ryan Clifford who needs just a bit more time and has gotten some reps in the outfield, can be DH or 1B. You move some guys around and this is what the team can look like:

Bichette 3B

Lindor SS

Soto LF/DH

Clifford DH/1B/LF

Vientos 1B/DH

Ewing CF

Benge RF

Alvarez/Torrens C

Baty 2B

Bret Baty saved the game with his throw to second and then won the game with his bases loaded single. Hes a good player and Vientos needs to keep up .

I mean this is a super star level day, when you include a 451 foot homerun dead central. let this kid play everyday bro . Don’t change his position. Who knows, maybe these guys are good and the Mets jave jerked them around so long that the front office now looks foolish when half their team goes down and they are playing their best baseball.

platoons don’t work!!!! Lineup shuffles don’t work!!!

Am I seeing clearly? The Mets scored 11 runs? FIVE RUNS IN ONE INNING AND COUNTING?

I must be dreaming.

Ofcourse WSH won’t give us the satisfaction of scoring more off a pitcher.

They are bringing in a position player!!!

The Balls on this guy Brujan is only met by the madness of Benge dashing down the line

But then again, Benge has no choice but to keep running. what are you gonna do wait for the pop up? lmfao brutally ballsy .

Now For the Hitman?

They keep calling it a great game but it’s basically two bad teams not able shut the door

Just one of those games you hope they win for the sake of the bullpen.

Vientos is more inconsistent than he is “streaky.” Drives you absolutely mad how lost he looks in between his stretches.

And the Umpires are squeezing us too

The Booth is in shock. It hasn’t set in yet. This was an all time regular season comeback -against the Yankees no less.

A Mets classic.

same team lineup and defense and guys start to play, who would have thunk? The Mets got better after the injuries and that speaks volumes about our idiot GM

  1. Between the salaries of Montas, Semien, , Robert, and Polanco you could have kept Pete Alonso and had him in the same lineup as Vientos.

  2. Had you literally just ate the salary of Nimmo and “bought prospects,” it would have been better than watching a washed 35 year old make $25 M a year blocking Baty, Mauricio, Bichette at second base.

  3. This buffoon PAID The Athletics $6M to TAKE McNeil

  4. Acuna for the league minimum gives you the same offense and defense as SemKen who makes $25M!

  5. Tyrone Taylor is making close to $4M! Slater $1M, Melendez $1.5M, Kimbrel $2.5 M- Stearns just handed out close to $10M for roles that could have been filled by various minor leaguers.

  6. Benge and Baty jave hit lefties this week, the former CANNOT play first base of the outfield. Vientos playing everyday has won him thw cleanup job .

I would rather anyone play second base than Marcus Semien and it’s a shame that once Lindor comes back or any of these guys come back, there is going to be a problem-and once they start losing again because we want to play thw wrong team or platoon everyone or play them out of position, all eyes will be on Stearns.

Hating the Mets needs to be studied. There are so many people in the media who want to see us fail.

Lost all my respect for Joe Davis last night. You expect it from Smoltz and Willis, two guys terrible at their job btw, but “Oh The Mets,” yeah I’m tired of the rage bait, it’s literally everywhere
