Those are my new EDC SAKs. I gave my trusty rambler (or should I say manager) new ruby scales and recently got the synergy x as daily (rambler for support). I kind of like the synergy so far. I regularly switch between companion, pioneer X and now the synergy x.
I love my Alox SAK, but we all know the struggle: no scale tools. Since we’re currently in "barefoot season" and I have small children, having tweezers and a pin on hand is a mechanical necessity for all those inevitable splinters.
I made a simple DIY carrier: I put the tweezers, toothpick, and pin into some heat-shrink tubing and heated it until it’s nice and snug. It’s tiny, fits anywhere (car, bike bag, pocket), and keeps the tools clean and ready.
It’s a charming little solution that cost me nothing but makes our outings much more relaxed. How do you all carry your tools when you’re out with the family?
I dropped my Companion SAK and now there’s a small crack (not just a scratch) near the pen slot. I’m devastated because I absolutely love these green scales—they look so cool.
Do you think a tiny bit of superglue would work as a temporary fix? I know Victorinox has the best service in the world, but I’m worried that if I send it in, they might not have the green scales in stock and would replace them with standard ones. Has anyone dealt with this before?
