Hello, So i am looking into buying a 2018 RS3 In a few months and trying to narrow down what i will look for, For the whole time i have been only looking at bone stock 2018 RS3 so i don’t have to worry about that much abuse. But i have considered what if i do buy one thats already Stage 1 with some performance upgraded

It would be cheaper in the long run by dodging the cost of the upgrades and the possible labour. Since I already plan on modifying the car when I have it. A stock 2018 RS3 where I’m from is roughly 44-50k and buying ones that are already modified are practically the same price.

Do you think it would be fine if i bought one with modifications already done to it, then once i receive it just go in for a full maintenance just make sure everything’s good to go.

And if i did buy modified what should i check for before purchasing?

Im currently in the market for an RS3 and right now i am heavily leaning towards the 8V due to it being cheaper than the 8Ys, Im planning on keeping it for 3-5 years and my goal is to modify it so i can eventually take it to the drag strip during the summer. Which one would you recommend for what i’m trying to achieve. Sometimes i think i would be happier in the long run with the 8Y due to the facelift and up to date interior that would age better throughout the years of ownership?
