The catalyst ... im disapointed son , and a bit of a rant about perpetuation.

Been a while since i adopted the habit to roughly every half hour go into brooklin praying the right boss would be at the pier spot , today was finaly the day , i prayed to the RNG gods while hosing Charlie down with bullets and the gods smiled, but oh boy what a disapointment of an exotic.

its miles worse than a 3 yellow investor for a status build damage, duration and haste wise even at full stacks , and the worst part is that the buffs only apply after the first time you applied the initial status that makes the buff go up, and just like perpetuation it does not apply at all on status transfer , so its a no no for any eclipse build , leaving the question , what is this mask good for?

and why once again hazard on it? just like the vile , just why ? instead of hazard the vile should have explosive damage and the catalyst should have skill haste, IMO.

and just a small bit about perpetuation , its a talent i like , i do use it every now and then to have a fast stronger start on an encounter , but the fact that it gets consumed on eclipse status transfer while giving a big fat nothing in return never sat well with me , feels like a bug that was never looked at.

PSA : do not run the Art museum with the event on , boss is unkillable

im queing up for some T3 and everyone is going for this mission although its impossible to finish it.

i kindda like this mission , only the end makes me avoid it like the plague , and with this bug now its even worse.

Mission Faction boxes can also drop proto gear

just in case you were wondering as i was , and on top of it for those who don´t know they also drop exotics so its worth it to open them in any case.

Two things i didnt see in the patch notes

Proto gear drops with 0 proficiency now , and there is a new priority objective , completing classified assignments.

i still didnt tryed to proto one of my pieces yet but im almost betting we will have to level it up as we used to on all gear , eager to hear from the first brave to try , im out of exo components for now.

Lincoln , until next time, it was fun , and 2 things i noticed after 30 minutes playing on the new update that i didnt see in the patch notes

Dropped proto gear no longer has proficiency 30 on it , it all drops at 0 , and there is a new item in the priority objectives , assignments , and yes you guessed it , its completing any given classified assignments on any dificulty.

What is the enemy archetype you hate the most this days? with a passion?

for me its obviously the heavy gunners , mother fuckers hit like those dumb dumbs running the automatic nemesis in the DZ , not even flinching while eating a truck load of bullets.

I would love Escalation to always have full 4 agents group enemie density and spawns even when playing solo

as a mostly solo player i hate that i need to group up just to have a better chance at drops in an escalation mission , because i think we can all agree that more enemies = more chances for a drop , so i feel this would be a nice QOL thing for solo players.

i always wanted to have the ability to run any mission under those conditions , solo but with 4 player enemie spawns , adding this to escalation would also help it feel a "bit" diferent from the usual main game for a lot people, except for groups of 4 , and would be for me as a solo player a long time wish come true.

Getting the augment level reset when we finaly get the one we actualy want from the "to be even more expensive soon" slot machine is a disrespect of a players time

As it stands the sistem is absurdly punishing , you have to be lucky to get the right augment off the bat or you can end up playing enough time to level any given one to 10 while you farm for cores to keep rerolling it , and when you get lucky , level gets reset , so getting lucky is quickly folowed by the sadness of seeing all that time playing go back to 0 on that piece.

seeing as its about to be even more expensive both to reroll or to level it up i think there should be a compromise here from the devs to "balance" this.

A: either the players get an option to choose their augment , of course for a high adequate price.

B: or let the players keep the level of the augment when they reroll to a new one , this second option would also enable a way for people to change their augments more or less easily to try diferent builds and combinations.

i like the removal of the gambling part the first option gives , but i can´t ignore the advantages for long term playing that option B brings to the table , but either one would be better than the current situation imo.

If the reroll for augments is staying this expensive i think it would be a nice trade off to at least let us keep our augment level progression.

it takes quite a bit to level up the augments , upwards of 300+ SHD levels so this would be a nice QOL , we could still work on its progression even if we didnt get the desired augment in the rolls instead of feeling double frustrated for wasting the cores to get yet another atomize whille also knowing all the time playing will be wasted in terms of augment progression at least untill we get another shot at a reroll.

what do you guys/gals think? do you see this as a bad idea that could benefit us in any major way ? or would it only really feel like a nice QOL change?

c´mon massive, players havent been feeling very welcome lately , regain some good will.

Escalation matchmaking needs to have rules

last night i matchmade for T3 , i join an invite and i see two way under SHD 500 agents and one that barely passed 1K, ok i thought , its only T3 i can carry a bit , the host looks at me , SHD 34K , and sets it to T5 , at that point i was face palming but im not usualy a rage quitter and thought lets see what they can do.

as you can rightly guess the damage from them was close to non existant so we got overrun all the time , but we were making it work , slowly but surely , mid run one of them asks me what build im using , i respond proto striker , he then proceeds to ask me:" why is your damage so potato ? "

my faith in humanity vanished a bit more in that precise moment , next room was the timed one on bank , we quickly were flanked from both sides , we wiped , im never matchmaking this again , not as it is .

people throw around the term gate keeping left and right this days but this mode needs it , its not good to anyone to have lobbies after lobbies full of players waiting to be carried like its heroic dificulty.

UNDER LEVELED OR UNDERGEARED PLAYERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE

a single agent cant carry 3 other on escalation T5 , even 2 fully geared agents would tipicaly struggle , its not about skill or SHD level , its about being in a mode in wich YOU have to carry your own weight , there´s no going around this.

now , what can be done about this ? i dont know , i would say maybe making proficiency lvl30 a barrier of entry would solve a few of this problems , even for MASSIVE who painted themselves into a corner when they alowed lvl 10 players to completly skip the whole progression sistem with the way they implemented this proto stuff.

but at this point creating barriers of entry would surely result in the tantrum of the century ,so they will have to be real smart on how they will go on about this , but as it is its just toxic and no good for the game.

first and foremost cost needs to lower when rerolling augments , some sugestions to make that happen:

obviously start by lowering the costs by making them in line with the drop chances , its takes an abnormal amount of time to get 24 cores just to get the slot to choose some bad augment for the 3rd time in a row.

so not getting dupes when rerolling would also be nice , even if we got the augment we want on the last roll possible it would feel like progression and not some slot machine shenanigan.

in order to still keep the cost on the high side maybe if players wouldn´t loose their progression when rerolling an augment would be a good qol change that would feel good , that way the time spent leveling up that gear piece while waiting for the right reroll would not go to waste.

drop chances right now dont feel all that bad so this simple changes could make a a whole lot of diference.
