Is hotel breakers haunted?

I’m 18 years old, and I go to Cedar Point about twice every year. I’m from the Appalachian Mountains, so I’ve always been around old places, strange stories, and locations that can give you an unsettling feeling. I’m not a beginner when it comes to ghostly apparitions, unexplained events, or places that just feel different. Growing up, my mom would tell me stories about Hotel Breakers. She would walk me around the hotel, showing me places that were supposedly haunted, pointing out creepy rooms, and telling me the stories that had been passed down for years. When I was younger, I believed almost everything she told me. As I got older, though, I realized that some stories are exaggerated or completely made up to give certain places a scarier atmosphere and add to the overall experience. But after my trip from July 19–22, I can honestly say I will never look at Hotel Breakers the same way again. It was around 1:20 a.m. on July 22 when my friend and I had just gotten off the elevator on the first floor of the west section of Hotel Breakers. We were walking down the hallway toward the stairwell when we saw what looked like an 11-year-old boy. He was wearing a red shirt, black shorts, and what looked like a hat or toboggan. We watched him run away from the final room on the ground floor, right before the stairwell. Thinking it would be fun, my friend and I decided to chase after him. By the time we started running, he had already turned the corner. When we reached the spot where he disappeared, there was no one there. We looked around the next corner and saw the long hallway leading toward the double glass doors. It was completely empty. My friend and I looked at each other, and I asked, “You’re thinking the same thing I am, right?” We both knew something felt strange, but we decided we couldn’t give up yet. We sprinted through the double glass doors and headed toward the hallway near the four elevators by TGI Fridays and the indoor pools. As we got closer, we heard what sounded like several people talking inside one of the elevators. One elevator was open with the light on, while the others were closed. We both felt relieved, thinking we had finally figured out where the kid went. But as we got closer, the talking started getting quieter and quieter. When we reached the elevator, there was absolutely no one inside. We were instantly shocked. We knew they couldn’t have gone into another elevator because we never heard any doors close, and we never heard an elevator moving. There was no way anyone could have left that quickly without us noticing. That was the moment I realized maybe some of the stories about Cedar Point and Hotel Breakers aren’t just rumors. Maybe there really are some strange things hidden within those walls that don’t have an easy explanation.
