Is there any one reason why more players don’t use female caddies?

We’re open from 8am until 6pm daily. Should we leave the machine powered up overnight or shut it down at the end of the day and then turn it on again in the morning? It’s an Appia II from Nuova Simonelli and cost of electricity is not a concern. What’s best for the espresso machine? Thanks.
