As this is a topic that has come up quite a bit and has its fans and detractors, in the latest version of Premiere Beta (Build 26.5.0.0.3), you know have the ability to enable/disable this via the wrench 🔧 icon in the timeline. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Now in Beta: Improved ProRes RAW Support

Link: https://community.adobe.com/announcements-732/new-in-beta-improved-prores-raw-support-1561616

If you’ve ever worked with ProRes RAW footage in Premiere, After Effects, or Media Encoder, you know the experience hasn’t always felt as flexible as editors and colorists wanted it to be.

The latest beta versions of Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder now bring expanded ProRes RAW support directly into the workflow. For the first time, you can view and adjust RAW settings right inside the Effects Controls panel under Source settings.

That means you now have access to controls like ISO, exposure bias, color temperature, and even raw-to-log options without needing to jump through extra hoops.

What’s great is this support isn’t limited to one type of footage either. Whether your ProRes RAW clips were recorded internally on cameras like the iPhone 17 Pro or Nikon ZR, or captured externally through Atomos devices like the Ninja or Shogun, the workflow is now much more unified inside Adobe apps.

Adobe is also supporting ProRes RAW plug-ins, which opens the door for camera manufacturers to create their own custom image processing pipelines instead of relying solely on the default ProRes RAW processing.

If you work with ProRes RAW regularly, this beta update is definitely worth exploring. The team is actively looking for feedback, questions and real-world testing from editors and creators using these workflows every day.
