Am I wrong for feeling weird that my food restriction was ignored during dinner?

Okay, so last weekend I went to a small dinner with some friends I do not see often. I had mentioned earlier in the week that I cannot eat dairy without getting sick, and everyone seemed cool about it. When we sat down, the main dish had a heavy cream sauce, and the only sides were cheesy bread and a salad with feta sprinkled on top. I ended up just picking at the salad and eating plain bread. No one said anything mean, but no one offered an alternative or even noticed that I basically went hungry. Later someone joked that I must be on a weird diet, and I laughed it off, but it still felt off. I am not sure if I am being too sensitive or if it was rude not to check in. Part of me thinks it was just a simple mix-up, but another part feels like my boundary got brushed aside without a second thought. Would love some outside perspective.
