I was looking into the chemistry involved and DMSO certainly purifies the product, but DMSO itself is so god awful to work with that it may as well be an impurity on its own. I am doing chemistry experiments today that will hopefully create a very pure product.

Procedure I am testing:

- Perform a DMSO extract

- Wash DMSO with starting fluid thrice and collect the starting fluid layers

- Add hydrochloric acid to the starting fluid and stir vigorously

- Filter out precipitate that *should* form and keep the starting fluid

- Boil it at the boiling point of water until it stops boiling. Keep flames away, and do this outside.

According to 69ron, this should increase the purity from 44.3% to 64.8% at a cost of some yield in the DMSO, and should enable a lot more freedom in dosing.

Explanation:

DMSO is a strongly polar substance that will remove most of the highly nonpolar substances

Starting fluid is a moderately nonpolar substance that doesnt mix with DMSO and can be used to remove compounds from DMSO

Eucalyptol is the main impurity left over and it forms a "crystalline adduct" with hydrochloric acid. We will see what this means.

A common problem with extracts is that they don't preserve for a long time. However, seeds last much longer because they are mostly airtight. Flax seed oil is a type of plant oil that dries very quickly and is commonly used in oil paints. When flax seed oil dries, it forms an airtight seal as it polymerizes and traps incoming oxygen. Tums contains chalk which lowers the pH of the stomach. If you take a couple tums, LSA will hit faster consistently as the higher pH is closer to the ideal pH for water based extracts. Chalk mixed with flax seed oil is the most common formula for glazing putty which is used to form airtight seals in windows. See where I'm going with this? This is all theoretical and I haven't tried it.

Materials:

- Mortar and pestle

- Tums

- LSA extract

- Flax seed oil

- Nonstick pan

- Paintbrush

1. Concentrate the extract until there is only a small amount of solution, as small as you can get it while still being able to handle it as a liquid easily.

2. Crush up a few tums in a mortar and pestle and grind thoroughly.

If you want a very consistent color, start by crushing only 1 tablet and grind it, then crush 1 more tablet and grind it with the other, then add 2 more tablets and grind it with both and double it until there's only a couple left and just add the rest.

3. Transfer most of this powder to another bowl, and leave a small amount at the bottom, just enough that if you lightly press your finger into it, you cannot see the bottom of the mortar and pestle. You want the absolute smallest amount of powder you can do this with.

4. Add extract into the divot you made with your finger and let it dry. Also make sure that you added a small pinch of tartaric acid or citric acid to the extract so it's more stable as a powder. Add more powder around it and make a bigger divot if the acetone is not above it.

Now this is finally set up so that you can make a paste with an even consistency, the following procedure is important!!!

5. Grind powder thoroughly, tap it to the bottom, scrape the sides of the mortar and pestle to get collect the powder

6. Add a visually equal amount of tum powder from the other bowl to the mortar and pestle, continue grinding, then add another equal amount and continue until you only have a small amount of tum powder left in the other bowl. Add the rest, and grind this. You are supposed to eye the amount of powder here in order to make an even consistency.

And now flax seed oil comes into play

7. Transfer powder onto a non-stick pan and mix with isopropyl alcohol using a putty knife until it makes a playdough-like consistency then break it into small, tums-sized balls.

8. Paint flax seed oil on the exterior of the balls until it forms a somewhat thick, even layer around the balls and let it dry. Expect it to take a while as if it's oil paint.

That's everything! To dose, crush the ball with your teeth and swallow it with water.

When attempting to grow HWBR, sometimes I get this white mold that infects the seeds early on. This same mold has been seen in failed extracts by others.

Last weekend, I took 20 seeds with a friend while on DXM and kratom. We took it at 10 seed increments 4 hours apart. The first 10 seeds me and him did did not result in much serious nausea, but pepto bismol was prophylactically used. So I crushed the next 20. Something caught my eye, one of the seeds was whiter than the other ones on the inside. It was the same color as that mold. I took this seed while my friend did not. 1 hour later, I was hit by the super nausea and emptied my stomach into the toilet revealing to me a fractal of a splendor of colors. I felt better after puking. The super nausea has a very distinct feeling from the typical nausea that every LSA experience has. My friend did not require any nausea meds and was fine.

So this had me curious. Was the super nausea just mold overgrowth the entire time? I will investigate further. Next time I have a moldy seed interior, I will have to take only it and see if it fucks me up on its own. This might explain why not every time I have dosed that this super nausea happened.
