Background story : I had unprotected sex (condom broke) with a HIV positive lady (tested her 48 hours after intercourse). Took my dosage 66-67 hours after exposure.

Just got my Gen4 results back 6 weeks post PEP and I’m negative!!

Lesson learned : Trust the process; PEP is brutal on the body and it varies from person to person. Sometimes you get side effects during the 28 days other times you get it after the 28 days. Please Don’t Stop taking your medication, sacrifice 28 days of drinking tablets instead of being on ARVS for the rest of your life.

I’m working in the mining industry as an Auto Electrician in South Africa and looking moving down under soon. A company from Perth is offering me $50 an hour starting and after probation the amount goes up.

The package breakdown is as follows: $50 basic + overtime + standby. 40 hours per week. 1 month of housing, company vehicle. (This is just the basics I can give)

Bear in mind, there’s 3 of us moving and the company is paying for everything.

I’m having side effects two weeks post PEP, the drug I’ve been on is Lavem, it contains dolutegravir, lamivudine, and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. I’m experiencing itching on my body (mostly the back area) and it’s mild. Is it normal to have this side effects? Please note that there’s no rash, only 4 tiny pimples on my back area and it disappears again(I usually got these prior to PEP).

I took PEP approximately 66 hours after being exposed to a HIV positive lady (I tested her 48 hours after having unprotected intercourse for about 2min due to broken condom). Anxiety is taking over and I’m waking up in the middle of the night examining my body 😂.

Is this normal or am I being paranoid?
