Hey SaaS founders 👋 What’s Actually Driving You Crazy During Development?

Hey SaaS founders 👋

I’m doing some research to understand the real pain points SaaS founders face during the development phase of building their product.

I’m especially interested in hearing from non-technical founders who work with developers or development teams.

Sometimes you have a clear idea of what you want to build, but once development starts, things can get complicated. You may not know whether something is genuinely a complex task, whether the timeline makes sense, or whether what’s being built actually matches what you had in mind.

I’d love to hear about your experience with things like:

  1. What has been the most frustrating part of working with developers?
  2. Difficulty explaining your product requirements?
  3. Getting designs translated properly into the actual product?
  4. Developers saying something is a “big task” without clearly explaining why?
  5. Scope constantly changing during development?
  6. Delays and missed deadlines?
  7. Bugs or quality issues?
  8. Finding the right technical team?
  9. Managing development while focusing on the business?
  10. Making technical decisions when you don’t have a technical background?
  11. Feeling like you have to constantly chase developers for updates?
  12. Something else that caused you a major headache?

What was the biggest pain point you faced during development?

I’m not looking for the usual “getting your first users” or marketing challenges. I’m specifically trying to understand the development/building side of the journey.

Would really appreciate hearing your honest experiences — especially things you wish you had known before starting development.

Thanks! 🙌
