Thoughts and suggestions for someone who’s trying to love this game

For context I love difficult games. I don’t mind losing and having to live with bad decisions. But this game feels like your success leans heavily on how you build your deck before the scenario starts.

when I fail a scenario it often feels like it’s due to my deck lacking something. This totally takes me out of the survival horror/ mystery solving because i seldomly look back and think about what choices i should have made differently during game play. For example in eldritch horror, i retrace my steps, items ive obtain, actions taken and re think my strategy when I run it again. But in Arkham horror LCG, I don’t pick up and build as i go. A lot of the game is done before the game starts and I’m bringing my bag of tricks into the next scenario.

Resource management are at odds when im top decking equipment I haven’t earned through deck building during the scenario compared to other deck building games( legendary marvel and legendary alien comes to mind)

I’m genuinely trying to give this game a chance. I played through the starter campaign and have a few of the expansions along with investigator packs. Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions

Thank you
