Bad Music During Hot Yoga
At risk of coming off a little uptight, I had my first negative hot yoga experience yesterday. I went to an earlier class than the one I usually go to yesterday and a Russian woman was substituting. I’ll say right off the bat that I’m a fan of 80’s music, but right when we started, she played really upbeat 80’s music loudly to the point where I could barely hear her. I had to keep looking up during the class to see when we were out of the posture because I couldn’t hear. Then different types of DISCO music started playing. Eastern European disco music too! Then I thought I heard someone’s phone go off at full volume; not ringing but it sounded like someone was watching an Instagram reel or something at full volume. Then I realized it was a clip of someone talking that was a part of the song. I’ll never take for granted the fact that the other instructors play more chill music. This is the only yoga studio I’ve gone to and the vibe might be different elsewhere but it was weird for the studio that I go to.
