I want to get into stagehand work and wanted to ask for some advice on venues that accept new stagehands. I am getting started on my OSHA 30 construction certification but want to get some hands on experience asap! I would eventually like to get into theatre work but i’m open to anything to get started! Hello, I live in NYC and really want to work in tech on broadway one day but i’m unsure how to get my foot in the door. I know the IATSE apprenticeship test happened in november so it is unlikely to have another one in the next year. What should I do to get my name out there? I don’t have any professional theater experience only high school tech experience. I have no real preference for what specialty as I loved it all (sound, lighting, props, stagehand, costuming etc. i’m not picky) I would love some advice on how to get started as I know it’s mainly a connections game.
