UvA students working on a petition to create healthier environment in supermarkets :)
Hi everyone,
We are third-year bachelor students at UvA working on a project about how supermarkets shape what people eat.
While creating our project, we found that supermarkets are not really neutral spaces. More specifically, product placement, checkout snacks, and promotions strongly influence what people buy, and often, the less healthy options are the most visible and heavily promoted. (You can see it very clearly with BONUS discounts in Albert Heijn stores)
So we have started a small petition called “Make the supermarkets healthier”. The things we demand with our petition are:
Making healthier products more visible at eye level
Removing candy and sugary drinks from the checkout area
Focusing more promotions on healthy food
Requiring mandatory Nutri-Score labels on food products
So, if you support the idea and our vision for the healthier supermarkets, here is the link to the website and petition with more information about our project:

Thank you in advance for your contribution! :)
