I currently live on land with people I’ve just met and the unit has a composting toilet with a separator.

I have been dumping the urine container on the land, switching up spots every day. Now that the rains have ended and summer heat is here, it is becoming noticeably smelly in the areas I’ve emptied the container and it’s quite embarrassing.

In my previous place, I had more privacy so I “watered the lawn,” so to speak, and never had any issues with smell. Containing it seems to be a whole other story.

For those who have a similar setup, where do you all dump your containers? Any tricks to keep the smell down?
