Boot Fit/Heel Slip

Acquired my first pair of boots (The Glen from Tecovas). Big fan of the look, but am not so sure on fit.

It feels like the toe box is right and I know some heel slip is normal, but feels like they’re really slipping. I’ve also heard that they should almost be a bit hard to get off and on, but that’s not the case here. I’m already a full size down from what I’d typically wear in athletic/dress shoes. Am I just not used to the heel slip and need to break them in and get used to it a bit?

As an extra, jeans about right? First pair of cowboy cut (13mwz). Feels like the shaft shows through more than I would’ve expected, especially moving around. Not interested in much stacking. (Don’t have a full length mirror yet in new apartment)

IBS-D and Fiber

Has anyone had luck pushing through negative reactions to fiber and getting to a point of having it be a real benefit for IBS-D?

I have tried a variety of different ones numerous times, and have always run into gas issues without helping with consistency/formation.

I’m currently in my longest trial using sunfiber to have less fermentable effects, but I’m using less than 1/4tsp each morning and am still having it noticeably sit pretty heavily. I know it always needs to be slowly ramped up to let the body adjust, but feels like this is a really minimal amount to have a pronounced effect. Is it worth continuing or is it just a net negative for some?

Yes I drink enough water, yes I’m trying other things too but it just seems like the idea of soluble fiber is perfect for my symptoms (urgency, incomplete movements, diarrhea, messy stools)

Nortriptyline

Hi all,

I just got prescribed 10mg Nortriptyline for IBS-D after trying a wide variety of other solutions. I know it’s been posted about before, but curious about people’s experiences with it specifically.

I am starting a new job 2 weeks from today and will have to be in the office everyday.

- is 2 weeks enough time to have reasonable effects (if any)?
- know it comes down to personal preference, but what timing have people had best effects with? Around dinner/bedtime to minimize drowsiness? Breakfast for consistency?
- for those who drink (or used to), is there a noticeable interaction here? Do you take it at breakfast or lunch to avoid prime overlap?
- have seen people often have to titrate up as body seems to adjust. Has anyone had long term success at a consistent low dose?

Thank you all - this sub has been great (for the most part) as we all navigate this… shit… together
