Things I search for show up in FB feed after

I thought Ecosia didn't sell my information but the last two things I searched (clothing websites) showed up in my Facebook feed right after. Is there another search engine I can use that anyone can recommend?

Leather wrapping/knotting for an arrowhead

Hi, everyone!

I'd like to wrap leather or something with the same flexibility so I can wear it but not sure how to do it so it won't be too chunky or flip around. I don't want to wire wrap it because that's not the look I want.

After I get it situated as a focal, I will make a beaded necklace. I'm hoping to avoid using glue but we can't always have everything. Does anyone have advice? Thank you.

How do you feel about your older work?

I made this bracelet 10 years ago. I had an idea and I spent a weekend creating it out of copper, with a little bit of sterling silver on the mug. I feel like I did a great job and thought I'd sell it for a fair price because it's pretty awesome (I think). I made a lot of pieces with copper back then because it was so much less expensive and I'd wear it myself but I'm not a copper person.

Eventually, one day another jeweler said she made copper pieces too for her markets and that she expected those pieces to be lost, but that was how she justified the prices. That stopped me in my tracks because I put as much care into my copper pieces as with my sterling silver pieces. That's when I stopped using copper.

I still have a good amount of copper jewelry from years ago but this bracelet reminds me of a time when I was inspired. I realize now how copper becomes brittle pretty fast and that the little mug charm would be easily dented, and at least one of the links would break. So in a drawer it sits, and today I took it out to admire it again. I guess that's that.

Who still has older work sitting around and how do you feel about those pieces?

Help for elderly neighbor

Our neighbor came and knocked on our door a few days ago asking for help with his water. He's an old man from the far East who has lived in the United States for a long time and his wife passed in December.

We went over to his house to find his water heater spurting water. He sat on the step and showed us his water bill, which was almost $1,000. He had his late wife's purse with all the important paperwork. I guess she had been taking care of everything.😢 He asked my husband to call a plumber because he said he didn't know how to do it.

He has two adult children, one (his son) who is living with him. He said his son was wasn't helping him and his daughter suddenly stopped visiting and he didn't know why.

My husband called the plumber and found that the water heater is under warranty. By this time he was overwhelmed with the situation. Ultimately, we reached out to both of his children, who told us not to help him, that we didn't know the situation, and that we should block his number. My husband, who is very close with his parents, is totally emotionally broken over this and literally can't help anymore, and I get it. I still want to help so I'm making this post.

I feel like I should call someone for a welfare check, but I don't know who. I don't know what that looks like. We've lived next door for years and don't know them that well. I'm thinking they're still dealing with a lot of grief. That's not an excuse, but I'm not in any position to judge.

Thank you for reading all of this. Who can I contact?

Where do you like to rent canoes/kayaks?

Specially for the Duck River but I'd like to know. I rented from River Rats last weekend and it was fine, maybe I should just stick with them.

Recommendations to see what I'm doing better

Hello! I recently work at a bench again after ten years of not being a bench jeweler...basically, I have been trying to solder prongs, which was easy for me a decade ago but now I can't see well enough to know if the solder is flowing or not. In this instance, I can't laser because the prongs can easily break off. I use safety glasses with 2.5 magnification but it's not enough. What do you use?

Looking for temp/event work

I work full-time during the week and am looking for something part-time. Years ago I used to sell beer at the stadium, but nowadays I don't know who runs concessions there. I know the festivals hire for event staff and I've been searching the web for those positions but I'm not getting great results. Any leads would be helpful. Thank you.
