Stop drinking

I know this is an obvious one, but seriously stop boozing. Im not opposed to alcohol completely, one or two has its own time and place. But casual boozing will 100% cause problems. Im currently coming off a round of Achilles tendinitis. 2 days before it flared up, i just so happened to go out w/ friends and had my fair share of drinks. Was it the culprit? Who knows. All i know is that the past 2 times i have gotten injured, alcohol was consumed 1 or 2 days prior.

Updating new sf86 form details for secret clearance

Hi everyone. Im going to be starting the enlistment process here again soon (was in the process of enlisting last year but had to pull out of the contract before shipping to basic training). Last time around, I of course had the sf86 done, did the interview and all that. My new recruiter this time around told me ill have to refill the form again, which i understand. Heres my question/worry- last time my recruiter basically handled the entire form filling process for me. They just told me to give them all the required info for the for form.

the first time around I was under the assumption it was illegal drug use only. I had used mj in illegal states, which i disclosed. But i lived in a state where it was legal at one point, and didn’t disclose that because i assumed it wasn’t the same thing/what they were asking. I genuinely just didnt understand, and it flew over my head on the interview.

Now that I did research about the sf86 and understand what the form is actually asking (huge thanks to everyone here on this sub, amazing resource!), i want to absolutely correct the disclosure - and include the mj usage when I was in a legal state (dates are past the initial listed timeframe of illegal usage)

Both times the clearance was for basic secret military enlistment clearance. How do i go about this? Update the info 100% and make notes about the mistake / immediately let the investigator know about the form discrepancy, when we have the interview? Im very stressed because this was genuinely a mistake. Thanks everyone, have a great friday.

TL DR: starting enlistment process for military again (need secret clearance), only disclosed illegal mj use last time, need to disclose legal state usage this time around (new enlistment process, new form)

Question about how versatility in the English language translates to secondary language success at DLI?

Copy pasting my post from the DLI sub…figured dr. VooDoo could chime in, or some other language qualified people.

Hey everyone. Its been about 7 years since I was in school(never was a good student, mostly slacked off), and im now angling to pursue a military job that would require going to DLI. In general my word selection when I speak is very average. When I read high level books (for example I’m currently reading a philosophy book written by a harvard professor) or just listen to very smart people talk, there are so many supplemental words they use that I dont know the meaning of. Hope that makes sense. My question is, how much of a hindrance will this have on me pursuing a goal of becoming fluent in a secondary language at DLI?
