New frame day! Twister frames on my Lightnings.

Went with the Twisters and halogen wheels.

So far, the "natural rocker" feels weird (almost feels like the middle wheels are loose or something, but they're not) but not terrible. Headed to go see what the new frames and wheels can do. I know it doesn't fit the flair but they feel like whole new skates 🤣😬

My childhood skates!

Cleaning out my parents house and found all my old skates. Super funny because my last skates as a kid were lightnings and I'm back on lightnings now.

Is it me or is this thing really ugly?

My friend/neighbor is moving, and while I was out of town she apparently left ~15 plants/props in my apartment. I did not ask for any of them. She’s a bit of a plant hoarder and she’s moving in with her significant other, who I assume has imposed a plant limit.

I don’t even want most of the plants she gave me, and then there’s this Pink Princess. 😭

I think she just couldn’t bring herself to throw it away, so instead she bestowed upon me the responsibility of deciding its fate. Which is honestly worse because now I feel guilty throwing away a plant I never wanted in the first place.

And then there are the side-quest props that just are as ugly as the tally leggy one.

What do I do with this thing? Is there a way to make it not hideous? Does it eventually become attractive? Do I need to give it a chance?

Or do I accept that my friend has successfully transferred both the plant and the emotional burden of composting it onto me?

Be honest: is it hideous, or am I failing to see the vision?

Soul slide help. What am I doing? Putting weight on my slidey foot? Not committing? Bailing?

Or all of the above? I feel like 90% of my weight is in my nonsliding skate. I dunno 😭 I'm very flexible so that shouldn't be hindering me. I'm guessing fear is holding me back.

It's not that exciting but I'm proud

This is probably lame, but I’m VERY excited that I just learned how to go over uneven terrain—specifically those bumpy mfers (Detectable Warning surfaces). 😂

I used to just go around them because absolutely not. Then I learned from Thisissoul on YouTube how to tackle them properly. Today I did 8 miles and rolled over SO MANY of those bumpy bastards. I was out there hitting every one like, “LOOK AT ME, I HAVE CONQUERED THE BUMPS.” 🤣

Small backstory: I skated a lot as a kid and then again in my early 20s, but I took about a 15-year break. Now I’m back. (You do the math. 😭)

I’ve never been good at skating backwards and could never do transitions, so I’ve been in the parking garage every day working on both like an old-ass dork. 🤣 I’ve taken some falls working on transitions that did NOT feel good.

I also snowboard a lot in the winter and picked up ballet as an adult 7 years ago, so I have decent balance and pretty good core strength. But still… learning new motor skills as an adult is HARD, man. Your brain is like, “We already know how to walk. Wtf is this shit??? "

New flower spike on orchid??

The thing to the left is definitely a new root. The one to the right looks like a new spike... I think...

I also added pics of its two new leaves and new branch. So much growing!

It's bloomed 3 times in a year and a half and was my first plant... My gateway plant... Now I love plants.
