Belt/bag for water/keys/skate tool while skating

I promise I searched the history but didn't see any recent discussion. Typically I have a hockey bag or skate backpack sitting off to the side with all my crap and I'm just skating in an indoor/outdoor rink or just in the neighborhood by my house, so I don't bring anything on my person while I'm skating.

But lately, I've been doing longer distances on trails that require me to drive there and even though I don't need to bring water for 10 miles, I both want to avoid falling awkwardly on my keys/skate tool in my pocket and wouldn't mind having water to go farther.

My skate backpack is way too big and I'm not really interested in skating around with my camelback; I'd choose no water over holding in the sweat on my back like that lol.

I'm wondering if people have anything low profile and comfy for carrying a bit of water and a few small belongings. Thanks in advance!

New Skates - HC Evo Pro 110s

Hi all,

Glad to see this great forum back! :)

New Hardcore Evo 110s just arrived, and so far they fit like a glove, though there is some pressure on the right medial malleolus. Hopefully they get a little more comfortable as they break in.

One thing I noticed right away is that both latches feel pretty flimsy compared to the ones on my FR1s. The Evo straps are really skinny, and it feels harder to get a tight fit. The FR1 straps are much chunkier and easy to really crank down if needed.

For anyone who has owned the Evos for a while, how have the latches/straps held up over time, and do they get easier to tighten with use?

I’m also somewhat interested in the Twister XT/90s, mainly because so many people seem to say they’re extremely comfortable right out of the box. Honestly, that sounds almost too good to be true. I’m not a huge fan of the Rollerblade brand, though, so I’m a little skeptical. I realize the two skates are in different categories, but I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has skated both and can compare the fit and overall feel.

Thanks

My UFS boots make me supinate

Hi I just got some UFR boots. I’ve been skating for a while now and just wanted to see what ufs felt like because I heard it rode closer to the ground.

I put them on and after a few turns and some carving I noticed that getting to my outside edge was a lot easier than normal. I looked down and my skates were leaning slightly on the outside edge. Supinating.

I thought it was my imagination at first and tried just skating around to see if it would go away, but it didn’t. It was slight, but I could really feel the difference.

To make sure I wasn’t just in my own head I threw my old pair on and went along the same route and just as I thought, I was leaning more into my inside edges now.

I had been compensating for the supination by resting more towards the inside of the skate.

Should I return these UFR skates or is this just how UFS mounting skates ride? More to the outside edge?

Thanks for reading all of this!

Second time on my skeelers

Used to skate when I was a teen. Decided to pick it up again. Got out my new skates a second time, slipped backwards and fell on my outstretched hand. Broke the head of my radius 😒

Thoughts on k2 harboot shell?

I recently got an offer for one (surg 84) seems too good to pass up but main issues are that i am not so sure about it due to how high the boot is. But i heard some good regarding the quality some bad regarding it being too narrow..

Can you tell me your experience with the shell and stock liners?

Our whole crew

We are a skating family. We met at a rink, our 3, 5, and 21 year old girls skate. But when it's nice out, we like to be out on inlines! The girls do outdoor bingo, watch for wildlife, and get out to skate themselves. And we get a great workout! 10-12 miles in town, because we're in VA, and.....HILLS. And around 26 on rail trails. This video was on the Western Maryland Rail Trail. Deeply wish this was more popular with families so we could have a bigger crew to skate with.

Hope for everyone who come back to rollerblading after a long period of time

Hello. Just wanted to post a bit of hopecore for everyone who returns to rollerblading after a long period of time. I gave up rollerblading in 2022 and came back one month ago after finally graduating from uni. Now I rollerblade as well as I did in the past, and I have even learned some new tricks lol. Just had to put a lot of effort and never-ending passion towards the sport (personally recommend listening to music, never failed me). Now I know there are things stronger than time - passion, talent and hard work. Enjoy the blades, everyone; love ya!

Aggressive Inline vs Speed Inlines - Backwards

Hey guys! long time blader here (10+ years)with a question about turning into a backwards skate. On my aggressive inlines, I can turn on a dime at any speed and maintain a backwards skate; however, when I go to use speed inlines, I eat shit trying to going into a backward skate at higher speeds (can skate backwards just fine when I do get it). Question is what is the technique for actually turning backwards on speed inlines? I grew up using the aggressive inlines, so I think I’m also battling muscle memory here and doing it completely wrong. Just curious! Thanks!

A couple weeks ago I came here for advice for beginner blades

Thank you r/rollerblading! A lot of great comments on my last post for suggested skates for beginners. I ended up getting Zetrablades from Dicks. I’ve skateboarded for a little over 10 years and have had a blast learning 180’s on a different type of wheels. Excited to continue this journey and progress :)

I think it was time

After many many rotations think it was finally time to replace the original wheels on my RB Pro X's

New skates are here!

First hardboots! Felt really nice compared to my cheap soft fitness boot.
But.. turned it was rockered from the beginning, that was really odd and hard once I tried skating normally lol. Was wayyy to agile for me. My fitness skates was 84mm and a long wheelbase, to these Shrike Pro 76mm with a much shorter wheelbase and rockered lol.. Its only my 5th day skating, so hoping for rapid improvement! Starting with flat for sure :-) ..

Was able to do T-stop and a semi soul slide indoors lol, on asphalt/tarmac however it was a lot harder. Got some nice scratches already..

A small routine I cooked up, enjoy!

Added some old wheels on my skates to rocker them and felt so smooth the whole session!

It's still all 4×80 but the older wheels are smaller from more wear

How to actually start to skate

I want to try to get into that sport in my 30s. Bought skates(twister xt) , protection and now all it sits there and waiting on my move. How to force yourself to do it? Maybe it’s lack of time, fear of falling…
