My mom called me by a girls name in a dream, but I don't know if I should use it

(For context, I'm still in the closet to my family. I also want to keep my initials, so my new name needs to begin with an E)

The other day my mom told me that had I been a born a girl she'd have called me Evelyn/Evie and that she only didn't call my younger sister that because our dad didn't like it.

Fast forward a few days and I dream I'm out to everyone and presenting femme in public and my mom calls me Evie. I spent the whole next day stunned at my mom calling me by a female name, even if it was just a dream.

I love Evelyn/Evie as a name (more so than the name I've been experimenting with), but there's two problems:

  1. My (very brief) first girlfriend when I was 16 was called Evie (but not short for Evelyn).

  2. If you're a fan of the Mummy films, you'll know Evelyn/Evie is the name of the main female character. This is only a problem because I have a degree in Archaeology, have just started my first full-time job as an Archaeologist, and I studied the Egyptian language and scripts in university. So choosing Evelyn/Evie as my real name just feels... too much? Like people won't take me seriously that I'm a trans woman who can read ancient Egyptian, who chose the name Evie.

At the same time, I feel more like Evelyn/Evie than Emily, which is the name I'd hitherto been considering.

I'd just be grateful for any feedback on this.

- E (whatever that E may eventually stand for)
